The moments in Vader's life where he's not full "force-choke/ready to force-choke" show that Anakin is still somewhere inside and that the light side didn't completely leave Vader.Star Wars isn't just the force, cool battles, crazy adventures and such. It's also about redemption and that nobody is beyond it unless they chose otherwise. So the whole younglings thing is irrelevant when looked on from a larger perspective.
