how do we get normalfags to buy and read comic books?
>>152179347Make good comics and advertise a lot.
>>152179359we tried that. what else
>>152179370go indie and then have a club they can't get in but certainly infiltrate...a controlled fall of sorts.like how normies destroyed our hobbies but this time more subdued and on our terms.
>>152179347Sell them at news stands
>>152179347You can't. While there are a few ways to make it more palatable to normies, entertainment as an industry is horribly oversaturated. And the internet has made it so more media is available than ever before and faster.Trying to get normies to read comic books is like trying to get them to give-up getting their news online and go back to newspapers. It's pointless to try.
>>152179347Stop being edgy and make comfy stories people can show their kids.
>>152179347Why would you want that
>>152179347How do you get normalfags to buy and listen to vinyl records? How do you get normalfags to visit arcades?
Market to children again so they have their own reason to grab trades etc at book fairs. Book fairs continue to be amazing for Scholastic and inspire kids to read all kinds of stuff. Don't make it main universe stuff, give it its own space and they'll eventually jump into your main books as they get older. Rivals is doing more than movies ever did for getting people into comics so they can keep doing their tie-in comics. DC could have something like that but arguably all those Batman games were that. Spread it out Every other comic company will rise if the Big Two do. Multimedia does help like with Invincible but be careful about it. Use the power of not-capeshit to diversify and not get people tired of comic adaptations in general (ie something like the Hellboy videogame, or an I Hate Fairyland castle crashers type game, etc).
>>152179370That's not true. Comics still suck and the way they've been advertised has been awful. Surprisingly movies and tv shows didn't work, people still didn't and don't care
They do. It's called manga. Take some notes from them.
>>152179686>Surprisingly movies and tv shows didn't workIt certainly did for the few that got them like Invincible
>>152179531what newstands?
I'm not a normalfag, I like comics, I read AND write them, but since the mid 2000s the only real place where you can buy comics over here became Arena which is a nerd store that relies mostly on MtG. You used to be able to get Spiderman comics and stuff at your local corner kiosk for, well not a pittance, but like 3€, sometimes 4? And you'd get 2 comics (since they would get two american issues and stitch them together so you'd get a 4-part story in just 2 physical books)But Arena treats comics like they're water in the desert. "Hey want this 64-page issue of Hulk where he shits his pants? That's 15€. Batman comic? 30. You want a hardback of that? 45." Like, get fucked man. I don't wanna get fleeced just for reading a couple stories.
I don't want normalfags involved in any industries I enjoy anymore.Let them be content with AIslop, completely separated from the things I enjoy.
You put them on a phone.
