You think Inside Job wouldve been a bigger hit if it released just a few years later? like literally 80% of conspiracy theories have been proven true in the last 2 years and the general populace is much more schizo brained than it was in 2022
>>
If they had the balls to tackle what conspiracies are nowadays it would have become a cult classic but it would have been taken off the air FAST.
>no episode where Reagan makes a great white replacement virus
>>
Inside job is just Rick & Morty with extra steps
>>
>>152179622
It was trying to be fun instead of a vehicle for Dan Harmon's hatred of mankind.
>>
>>152179573
>the general populace is much more schizo brained than it was in 2022
Schizophrenia is not distrust in the government. Yes, most schizos don't trust the government, but there's a big difference between "the epstein files are purposefully being withheld" and "my soap is poisonus because the dish it's in is wet and gooey and not dry and powdery".
>>
>>152179622
eh, maybe it was in the first few episodes, but it wasnt afraid to take it wasnt afraid to take itself seriously, which is refreshing when most stuff right now is buried in 12 layers of irony and nihilism
>>
It's a good show, clever, weird, doesn't have too dark and morbid sense of humor, it's just on that edge without being dehumanizing.
>>
>>152179670
Conspiracies aren't schizophrenia either. I know it's fun to call people schizos but that's not the main reason lots people believe in ridiculous shit.
>>
>>152179573
it was definitely big enough to get another season but netflix is netflix
>>
>>152179704
It's just a slur like "tranny" or "woke". Calling them "schizos" is the same emotional indulgence, a belittling mockery. Schoolyard antics.
>>
>>152179704
Anon, the soap dish poison thing is a real life belief held by diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic Richard Chase. Sasquatches and aliens are different from believing that you are directly being poisoned in your own home.
>>
>>152179711
unironically this, maybe in another timeline where Shion and Alex went to Prime we mightve gotten 3 seasons. Honestly even for the time it came out, Netlfix wasnt really in a good spot, they were bleeding subs from price hikes so allot of people probably didnt even know it existed.
>>
Would've been more relatable if it was a male lead. I know more conspiracy theorists to be guys. But then it'll be sexist to have female secondaries being people who can't think for themselves, which is big no in the direction of the current industry.

Nothing wrong with a female lead but these days female protags feel like some guy I know but in a female body.
>>
>>152179761
...I think I misread what the post I quoted said and was trying to say the same thing.
>>
>>152179790
It happens, I've done the same thing a few times.
>>
>>152179773
In fairness the point is not that the main character is the conspiracy theorist, she's the person making the conspiracies happen. The evil government flunky bitch is a common trope.
>>
>>152179573
The show never really went that deep into conspiracy territory anyway, and danced around anything even remotely related to anything IRL, as far as I remember. I think it mostly just got the leftovers from R&M, plus whoever wanted to fuck Reagan, and that's about it.
I still liked it for a while, but I dunno, I kinda fell off of it pretty quick for no reason.
>>
>>152179801
>she's the person making the conspiracies happen.

Wow.

Now i don't wanna watch it
>>
>>152179573
>the general populace is much more schizo brained than it was in 2022
Forgive my stupidity but what does this mean?
>>
>>152179773
Honestly, instead of male reagan it wouldve been funnier if we got a Dan Vs esque character to be her foil, a slubby conspiracy nut that no one takes seriously but gets dangerously close to outing Incognito every few episodes and Reagan has to struggle with either helping him or silence him

People are way more neurotic and distrustful of everything. More and more folks are turning away from mainstream news sources and seeking independent talking heads instead. We're basically living in a ourbouros of disinformation where everyones crying wolf at the wrong thing.
>>
>>152180192
>More and more folks are turning away from mainstream news sources
Good.
>>
>>152180192
Why is this called schizobrained? Genuine question, I'm schizophrenic.
>>
>>152180274
Normalfags misunderstand what schizophrenia is and think it's when you aren't compliant with what you're told or are kind of weird.
>>
>>152180288

I actually think it aged pretty badly. The idea that the government is an evil hypercompetent force watching everyone's every move and playing 5d chess is harder to believe now that America has a Chud Occupied Government that's tanking the economy and antagonizing our allies for no reason and still can't do the one thing it was elected to do. Reagan should've been Chinese.
>>
>>152180274
Lots of modern political beliefs involve thinking the other side does stuff that's completely unrealistic so it feels like arguing with someone who has actual delusions.
>>
>>152179808
idk, some of the gags were pretty based, like theres a whole episode where multpile news stations are blatantly corrupt and fear mongering for (((insert interest group))). They also do a bit in the Mindscape episode where Rand is trying to say who orchastrated 9/11 and hes censored by an unknown source even in their unconsious state kek. Its also the only piece of media ive see that even acknowledges that the Bohemian Grove is a real thing
>>
>>152180428
>>152180313
>>
>>152180352
you watch the last episode its revealed that the Robes(the real people who run shit, Illuminati and Incgonito are basically just puppet orgs) Actually purposely cause world wide catastrophe to cull people. Its also hinted they may not be from earth(cthullu is mentioned)
>>
>>152180428
exactly, its like going on /pol/ and you say something slightly off cuff and like 10 anons call you fed/bot/shill...except now thats happening in real life and you can easily get dogpiled for saying the wrong thing.
>>
I'll always remember an anon who said that Alex Hirsch made the show signifigantly worse by convincing whatshername to include long-form continuity in every episode when 1-3 "plot episodes" per season would have been just as good for storytelling and made it easier to people to replay random episodes on Netflix.
>>
>>152180274
Calling things "schizo" is in the exact same linguistic trend like calling someone "crazy" or "retarded" or "gay" or any other slur. Sorry if you personally have schizophrenia and the normals are misunderstanding your experience, that's probably annoying. These days everyone feels like they are crazy, maybe that's "cultural appropriating" actual diagnosed people lol.
>>
>>152180600
>that's probably annoying
Just a little, it's more confusing than anything but that's life in my experience.
>>
>>152179573
Wasted the conspiracy theory gimmick with the most basic shit like lizardmen and JFK. Actually conspiracy stuff would’ve been kino
>Yakub is just Uncle Rukus
>Brent solo adventure in Hyperborea
>Interdimensional Cable but it’s with lost media
>>
It was probably doomed, Netflix kept canceling its good animated shows because they competed with Big Mouth (which was made by a nepo baby).
>>
>>152179573
It played far too safe with conspiracy stuff to cash in on anything, just devolved into generic woke sitcom premises that ignored its own lore

The comedy could've been way blacker. Imagine an episode where Reagan has to go to Epstein Island to settle a labor dispute because the child prostitutes are demanding higher pay.
>>
>>152180855
>>152181003
They were never going to do modern shit, the authors were millennial hipsters who are too old to be familiar with it. And trying to pitch something making fun of Agartha and gangstalking would have probably been a tough sell with mainstream suits who don't know what the hell that is.
>>
>>152181151
Yakub comes 1960s NOI propaganda and Agartha is 19th century occultism. That stuff just became more popular recently.
>>
>>152181185

based only for Bimbo Britt
>>
>>152181216
The point is if you were a real /x/ schizo you would've already known about all of these for years, not just because it's popular on twitter.
>>
>>152179573
I think on of its bigger problems was how formulaic every episode was. Why did they all need to end on an action set piece? It felt forced and dull after the 4th time it happened, and was really showing the weakness of season 1 that all they could do is copy Rick and morty.
>>
>>152181224
Apparently it's "陰謀論のオシゴト" if you wanna look that up. There are some on Pixiv.
>>
Reagan is just young Rick before the self hating alcoholism set in
>for a 1 season show that got memory holed in less than a year it has a shitload of fanart wtf
>>
>>152179573
it would've performed better if it was good
>>
>>152181329
I think the bigger problem was that the entourage wasnt that interesting yet they got allot of focus over Reagan, rand and Brett.
Dolphin guy is just Bill Dauterive
The asian guy is just Quaqmire+ drugs
and The black girl is basically just a mishmash of stereotypes that befit more a 1 off bstory antagonist rather than a maincaster
And the funny thing is, these character did grow on me by the end, but it literally took me till the end to start caring about them...and most people who disliked these characters probably would of clicked by episode 3
>Says allot that I can even be bothered to remember their names

Definitely not. If Inside Job were released a few years later, it would've only gotten TEN episodes released, with the back half catching dust in animatic form while the crew is told Netflix will "gauge how well that first batch performs" before getting promptly laid off.

We're fortunate the show was made at a time when Netflix still tried to PRETEND it cared about animation.
>>
>>152180352
Reagan sexoooo
>>
What's the appeal of this show? Is there hot bitches in it?
