SHARTES STEALING SHIT
>>152183523>shove dog shit down Nora's throat until she dies to get Duane out
In the end, perhaps the real Unsounded was the dog shit we stole along the way.
I like the notes at the bottom of the page.>"Leaving only carved wooden decoy ducks to mark his crimes, the dread Captain Malvolio Mallard continues to bedevil the waters around greater Morstorben and the Litriya Coast. Admiral Mati expressed frustration with the attacks, describing scenes of floating debris and sails but no ships to be found! How is this reprehensible Aldishman disappearing vast numbers of merchantmen and passenger ships without ever being sighted? Experts are unable even to advise fishers and captains on what type of ship or sails to look out for, contributing to an environment of unease and uncertainty among Port Morstorben's seafaring population.">Morstorben Mirror, evening edition>>152183460>Mallard is aldishThat's just what they want you to think. I swear, the "man" is a sixty foot tall sentient duck. Probably some kind of rare senet beast.
>>152183460Is there nothing a Sharte won't steal?!?!
>>152184142The only shit stealing I've ever heard of being a crime was the gardening fanatics that were stealing elephant shit from the zoo, before the zoo figured out they could sell it.True story.
>>152184104I already forgot about the note system. Gotta remember to check that

THE PESKY POO POO PLUNDERER
>>152184458
The Dread Pirate Mallard doesn't exist. It is a ruse.
>>152183460>AldishThe little duck had me going for a while, but I'm going to put on my tinfoil hat and say this Captain Mallard is not real. An Aldish pirate? That's too on the nose in this current political powder keg.
>>152184142>stealingCan't a girl dare to be industrious in the middle of commieland? Who owns the log of shit that lies on the sidewalk? Is a Sette not entitled to the sweat of her brow?
Website comment:>Friends! …maybe. We didn’t all part on the best of notes… Speaking of notes, throughout our tale you may notice an extra note waggling at you from beneath the comic page. Give it a click or a tap to check out pertinent historical clippings my archivists put together for you.>And now, without further ado, I’m honoured to announce the winners of Unsounded’s latest Fanworks Contest! Drumroll please…>For Fanfiction, please congratulate Serpenthyne in first place with her very well researched Mikaila AU story! In second place, please give a round of applause to zacksfairest, for her colourful Lemuel piece! In the Fanart category, I think we were all pretty blown away by Humming-fly’s animatic. First place for them! In second place is Nikaleles with their stunning illustration. I’ll contact the winners by email this week!>Thanks again to EVERYONE who entered. There wasn’t a single entry that didn’t make me giddy. Unsounded’s readership is insane with talent and creativity, and I’m humbled all the time to have you on this adventure with me :)>~AshleyPatreon comment:>Ruffles is reading Tip-Top Tom because she is a good inak who wants to internalize good and moral lessons from cartoon Gefendur goats.>Yes, that's dog poop.>I think numbers are meaningless but I know there's often a lot of curiosity about the fanworks results, so here you go.>I SHOULDN'T BE FEEDING YOUR DEMONS but here, here. Remember there is some skewing because you have to have a Google account to vote. I've yet to find a way to set up a poll that isn't going to require SOME kind of registration. Just one of those evil things.
>>152184613I'm sad to see Lament got so few votes because I think writing an original song within the setting is more challenging than just singing a song directly from the comic. I guess it depends what you class as a fanwork, but Lament was to me clearly from the PoV of Sessine. I think I voted for Lament, the plushie and Just Another Child. I might have voted for the recipe over the plush though.Fanficwise I voted for Strawberry Seedling, which was probably my favourite, and I think the runner-up Lemuel one. I think a lot of the fanfics had neat ideas, like the Nora/Duane one, but I'm so used to the voices of characters in-comic that I sometimes struggled with parts I felt didn't fit.Overall I was impressed. I think almost every entry was imaginative and at least somewhat challenging to attempt.
>>152184472Hot take: Duane was never in the wrong at the Shrine at any point.
>>152184448fucking lmao
>Shartes will literally steal the shit from your ass
>>152185376Duane is a moralfag perennially incapable of actually following through. Caught between the insanely high standards of his religion and country and the insane horror show of how they actually work. The entire tragedy of Litriya is that Duane did the worst possible things to solve the situation, despite his moral intentions. He didn't just want to do good, he wanted to be righteous wrath. Casting down the sinners and criminals in a heady, ego boosting fire. Not once, until it was too late, did he truly consider what the girls wanted. Siya wanted to be free, but having spent her entire life growing up in the temple, in the context of her own religion and country, she never wanted to kick the sandcastle over and burn it all down. She desperately wanted for a way to live her life but also remain a part of the thing that was going to kill and eat her (what a literal metaphor). To her own lasting guilt, she got it the only way it was possible: with the death of her sister, she is "no longer" legally a twin and thus ineligible for ritual sacrifice.

>>152185572I think you don’t realise how crazy Duane was even pre-deadification until you see what the Aldish army actually does when it’s not fighting other Alds.
