Uhhhh... Marvel bros?!?!https://comicbook.com/comics/feature/dc-comics-is-crushing-marvel-comics-in-sales-and-we-shouldnt-be-surprised/
>>152190581DC KO/All-In, That's why
>Dude Absolute is a huge home run! We better ride this for all it's worth!>Dude, Ultimate is a huge hit! Kill it.
>>152190581Only because Carol's solo hasn't relaunched yet.
>>152190581Most marvel books have been trash. DC has reached a level of kind of okay.
>>152190581asm1000 alone will crush dc back to the stone age
>>152190649Is it that or is it Absolute? I thought Absolute was supposed to be the big hitter sales wise.
I wonder when will we reach the emergency "Undo OMD" threshold for Marvel.
>>152190958At least 10 years ago
>>152190923Not unless OMD is undone and every page is Lowe, Wells, and Slott being executed
>>152190649>DC is winning>only because of the comics they’re publishing!…okay?
>>152190923900 was a joke, what makes you think 1000 wont be?
>>152190581> Now, to be fair, ICv2 makes it clear that these rankings aren’t meant to represent every store, but are meant to paint a broader picture. And ICv2’s latest market share report detailing the third quarter of 2025 shows that Marvel is still the top dog at a 36.6% market share. But what’s interesting is that ICv2’s second quarter report had DC at a 25.5% market share. Ahhh yes. Another clickbait title trying to Shill DC’s gay tranny comics. How surprising.
>>152190581>>152191654>DC Comics has to pay websites to make articles with lying titles to shill their awful comics
>>152190581Comics stopped mattering after the crash of 96. It's all about IPs now
>>152191654And there it is
>>152190581>>152191654>>152191700Why is it that DC has to lie about their sales while Marvel does not?
>>152191654>>152191669>>152191700>Marvel wasting money on shills on /co/ instead of focusing on making better comicsThis is why you’re losing
>>152191794According to >>152191654 and >>152191700 DC are the ones losing.
>>152191700Marvel’s always had a “spray and pray” mentality where they’ll put out a shit ton of comics to use that sheer volume to win the market share. Are there any Marvel books that are generating any sort of talk that is anywhere near the level of the Absolute books?
>>152191819>according to Marvel shills DC is losing
>>152191875As opposed to the DC shills who claim DC comics is crushing Marvel in sales despite otherwise.
>>152190581>>152191654I can’t wait for when the Absolute books crash and DCfags kill themselves
>>152191930Two more weeks, anon
>>152191916What Marvel books are generating any sort of hype comparable to the Absolute line? Or even DC KO? I genuinely want to know, I prefer Marvel but Marvel post-covid has been a slog
Looks like the Marvel shills and editorial are on aggressive copium mode in this thread
>>152190923With Brevoort, Lowe and Wells still hired there as Joe Kelly?Nah>>152192009Transformers is still smashing everything marvel is doing.
>>152190674My theory is when the original Ultimate universe was running a lot of the “old guard” people like Brevoort (Busiek for sure, he threatened to quit Avengers if Ultimates was named Ultimate Avengers) were assblasted at how much the Ultimate universe was out shining the OG universe. Since a lot of those old guard people are still there they saw that the new Ultimate was generating more hype, especially Spider-Man, than the regular line so they kneecapped it to prevent it from happening again
>>152192123>Transformers is still smashing everything marvel is doingDoes Marvel have anything right now that rises above “just okay”? I’m reading Uncanny and X-Men and they’re fine, nothing to get excited about, the less said about Spider-Man the better, Hulk is pretty good but it does feel like diet Immortal…the only thing that seemed anyone was actually talking about was the Ultimate line that they seem to have purposely fucked
>>152192406It wouldn't surprise me. They had to have Rich do an article saying that USM #1's sales were better than Absolute Batman #1's sales in 2024, which came off weird because Marvel usually doesn't shut up about how much better it does than DC (as seen in this thread). They're bragging about how much of a bigger market share but don't mention how much of a consistent top seller vol 1 of USM was
>>152190923If only anon, if only....
>>152190581DC Finest came out and just blew out Epic Collections in every way
>>152190865You're the reason I have Carol on my filter list. The only other things I have on that list are foot and feet. You are as obnoxious as a footfag anon.
>>152192439Nothing at all>>152192406they literally hired loeb to ruin the universe and quesada wanted to out edge DC in bloodbath>>152192526He is a foot fungus negative ass fag
>>1521916536, 7 and 800 weren't exactly hallmarks either
>>152192500It doesn't help marvel when the epics just had a price hike and Finests can be got for around 20 odd
>>152190581*yawn*
>>152192564>they literally hired loeb to ruin the universeEveryone says Ultimatum is what killed the Ultimate universe but by the time Ultimatum started the Ultimate universe was seriously limping along and a lot of people wondered why anything except Spider-Man was still running. Spider-Man was still good but X-Men got kneecapped by a promised Bryan Singer run that never materialized and a DISASTROUS Robert Kirkman run, Ultimates never came out, and Fantastic Four couldn’t keep a creative team long enough to really establish a groundwork for the book. Ultimatum really should have literally killed the line but for some bizarre reason they kept limping it along for another ten years
>>152192730>marveshill has to use sales data from 40 years agoWhile you’re at it show us how Carolco is still dominating movie studios
>>152191997>post-covidDon’t you mean post-crash?
>>152192748>Delusional Comic fans
MCU bros... we keep losing...
>>152192733Kirkman created Invincible to mock the Ultimate Universe and the scene that it was the 2000's comics
>>152192733Let's be frank, did anyone really care about anything outside of Spider-man?
>>152192750I mean pre-Covid Cates’ Venom, Ewing’s Immortal Hulk, and Hickman’s X-Men were generating a lot of talk but since Covid all Marvel’s had is the Ultimate line which, let’s face it, if it weren’t for Ultimate Spider-Man being what it is I don’t think would have moved any sort of needles
>>1521916961997 gave us Busiek Avengers so I must strongly disagree.
>>152192805Invincible started in 2002 when the Ultimate universe was still in its infancy so I really don’t see how that’s at all possible
>>152192835People were only drawn to Ult Spidey because the promise of gin being Married to Mj with kids but nobody really cares for the actual comics and their real time bullshit. I suspect a lot of buyers did so just to make a point.
>>152192820When the Ultimate line first started it was a lot like the Absolute line today, every book was a huge hit but X-Men faltered hard after Millar’s run ended and Bendis stepped in with a seriously lackluster run, Ultimates lost any sort of momentum it had when it took six years to release 24 issues, and Fantastic Four fell off about halfway through Millar’s second run. Spider-Man was the only consistent book.
>>152190581DC has a bigger backlog catalog of stuff I wanna read plus a longer period before it all started getting bad. And Marvel can't even bother to reprint a lot of their stuff but especially anything collects whole series.>>152190649Delusional. No one's reading that crap.
>>152192905>And Marvel can't even bother to reprint a lot of their stuff This is a legit problem, a friend of mine’s kids are really into spider-man and he asked me for some recs so I went to look up the epic collections that collected the first issues by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and they’re all out of print and going for hundreds on the secondary market. How the fuck does marvel not keep that in print??
All Marvel has to do it take a year or two and plan out their own Absolute line. Don't rush it.
You're not talking about what books are selling or near cancellation. It's just console wars. Who cares?
>>152192950I don't expect them to keep obscure characters in print or even the big expensive omnibus. But there's zero reason you shouldn't be able to walk into a book store and get the Epic Collections of some of their biggest characters.
>>152192852early invincible began mostly as kirkman poking on the 90's, but when the entire ultimates 3, decimation, and dc pulling fucking cry for justice happened, the entire tone changed and kirkman went all on making mark the showcase of the 2000's decade, including the infamous "i am tired of being a super hero" scene.>>152192958The horned rat wont let that happen because of eM-SHE-U
>>152192987i'm sorry but are you aware that DC has the most transgender super heroes (male to female)
>>152192950Get him a Marvel Unlimited subscription, they've got all the Lee/Ditko stuff there. The annual subscription is cheaper than a single omnibus.
>>152192950The same reason Marvel treats their star mascot character so poorly. Complete & utter incompetence. They should have prioritized everything on getting the epic collections finished & regularly reprinted first before even thinking of the modern or Ultimate collections.
>release comics like manga>sales goes upIt's that simple.
>Console wars drama.
>>152193055imagine defending the poor kid who buys Batman: Hush
>>152193086Or Wonder Woman Earth One.>Mom... what's BDSM?
>>152193010But enough talking about the x-men in krakoa, marvel employee.
God people are really desperate for literally anything when Absolute Batman and Ultimate Spider-Man doing the same shit juggled up a bit have become the biggest hits of recent years.
>>152193192Yeah but one of those isn't intentionally being shut down in the very near future
>>152190923Spider-Man hasn't been allowed to have nice things for longer than most Spider-Man fans have existed
>>152193209It is a meme at this point that whatever Hickman does will end up the same way.
>>152193232I heard that this was all because people never say he finishes shit so he made something intentionally to finish which just sort of misses the point really.
