>Showrunner Bill Oakley shared several proposed scripts or episode pitches for Seasons 7 and 8. One of these was an episode exploring race relations in Springfield. Oakley said this was scrapped because "It was not an appropriate topic for the Simpsons to cover."[3]Pussy.
No who ever said that was a saint. That black ancestor episode was insufferable. And stolen from fsmily guy
>>152198465Was he that afraid of Jesse Jackson? BTW, he's not the emperor of black people, Bill.
>>152198465They ended up doing this later after Carl got a new VA.
>>152198561He told Oakley's dad he was.
Thank god, Oakley tenure was good but too experimental so a RACE episode would have ended bad.Hell, I would rather watch a race focused episode during Mirking because would be funny or even during Scully because would be some weird stuff like The Island episode
>>152198465>It was not an appropriate topic for the Simpsons to coverIt's not. First off you know it wouldn't have been funny, second you know the Moral of the Story would have been that blacks are smart and reasonable, yellowy is dumb and irrational, so you'd have hated that aspect too.
The Simpsons was on a terminal decline the moment Season 4 or maybe part of 5 ended. Season 6 is where it kills any idea of being cutting-edge or grounded in a dark reflection of American society and simply became the same cheap sensationalism it attempted to transcend.
