What I'll beat the drum about over and over is that Trump himself actually is funny and jokes about him can be very hilarious but almost nobody goes about it the right way. This is because Trump, in and of himself, is funny. Most "comedians" mock him, lampoon him, caricature him, and they fail in this because they're never going to do a Trump impression funnier than Trump himself is capable of behaving.

The way to do comedy with Trump isn't to try and create some mock Trump, or Trump caricature, but to just do the most insane shit with Trump and play it completely straight. The funniest Trump impressions are the ones that don't try to artificially inflate his negative traits but just lean in to his penchant for doing and saying the most batshit things possible. Trump himself once spent 20 minutes in a stump speech ranting about how much he hates sharks. You can't mock that, it's already a joke in its own right. It's like trying to make fun of a clown. You just can't do it. What you've gotta do is lean into the genuine article instead.
