Lore Olympus has been greenlit by Amazon Prime as an animated series. It will be made by the Jim Henson Company and it is the studio's first adult animated project. Will this version star Sydney Sweeney? I thought it was already made into a series by FXX?https://www.variety.com/2026/tv/news/lore-olympus-animated-series-amazon-jim-henson-company-1236635434/
>>152206182It’s impressive that the author managed to make a Greek epic blander than toast.
>>152206182Oh yeah gimme them pink tiddies
>>152206213It's a dime-a-dozen Hades & Persephone retelling, seriously, there are other greek myths that would make for better adaptations
>>152206213I like how she added an unneeded problematic age gap between Persephone and Hades but removed the incest
>>152206282>thinking we'll get cartoon nudity in current year Oh, anon...
>>152206182When I saw the Jim Henson headline I was confused at first because I assumed that meant puppets.
I had a date with a girl once who was actually pretty cute. We talked about all sorts of things, and we both got to talking about comics, and specifically webcomics. She mentioned she was a fan of Lore Olympus; for my part, I told her about Unsounded. We both agreed to read each others' webcomic recommendations. Then a few days later when I messaged her for an update she said "I don't think we're a good match" and never heard from her again. That's what Lore Olympus is associated with in my mind.
>>152207149I don't need them nude, I like big heavy naturals barely restrained and difficult to hide.
>>152207149>>in current year>implying that cartoon nudity was ever common in American animation
>>152206616I dunno, I find rape very interesting
>>152206182Good for the author. I tried Lore Olympus a couple times but it wasn't really my cup of tea. I was vaguely aware of the webtoon to film/show pipeline with Korean stuff so it seems natural that Lore Olympus would get that treatment.>>152207262Honestly I can see why she bailed. A comic filled with gore and child murder is going to be a tough sell for most people. She probably thought you were a serial killer in the making. On the flip side that's a strong filter so anyone who gets past that means you're in good company.
>>152207627I've read the entire story and it's...fine. Honestly knowing the the Jim Henson Company is working on it, it might end up even better than the comic.
>>152207627>A comic filled with gore and child murder is going to be a tough sell for most people. For a chick, yeah. For a guy, nah.>She probably thought you were a serial killer in the making. That's on her for jumping to extreme conclusions, just like you. The shit in Unsounded ain't out of place in tons of popular anime and manga. Girl was just a lame.
>>152206182BookTok-coded webcomic. Very Labubu. Much matcha tea. Dubiously Dubai Chocolate.
>>152206182The tsunami if Madds Mikkelsen played Hades will drown japan
>>152207711>>152207627Yeah, she sounds normier than most actual normies. Mainstream manga like Chainsawman already show rampant gore in the first few chapters
>>152206182Yup , cartoon reviewers and YouTube essayists are going to eat good when this drops by ripping this apart . That being said I am a little glad we are getting pure romance cartoons instead of people smuggling romance drama into action and adventure cartoons, we need more genre purity. Also I hope this means webcomics are seen as a chance to develop ideas.
>>152206182You know what? I welcome it. Shit is a better vessel for the Hazbin demographic and will hoperfully kill it the franchise with tumblr sexy romance while pagan larpers scream about the depecitions of gods presented.
>>152208597>Also I hope this means webcomics are seen as a chance to develop ideas.i don't. i'd rather not see another genre become a dumping ground for barely-disguised movie pitches.
I'll admit, I read lore olympus all the way through, mostly for the art which I liked. Some of the gods were portrayed pretty well. I liked Hades, thought Ares was pretty great (poor guy gets so little attention in modern mythology) and Persephone and Hecat both grew on me as the series went on. Hera was insufferable (lore accurate) and Apollo was done incredibly dirty, but the series needed a villain. The adaptation likely won't be for me but it has potential to be better than a lot of shows.
