There's no sense of causality or surprise at how or why everything on Hailey's list needs to happen. This show might have benefited from a strict A/B plot structure like Phineas and Ferb, where we can see how her present decisions have consequences in her future.Any comparison between this show and Owl House begins and ends at the weak writing. Owl House, for all its faults, at least had a tone and mood to its visuals. Hailey was just bland.

Say what you want about Amphiba, Owl House, and Molly, but at least those shows had great character designs, backgrounds, creature designs, etc. Hailey literally looked like the stereotype artstyle of an 'adult animated sitcom'.
I always thought it would be funny if Hailey did kiss Scott and it was just complete ass.

>>152290028I actually wonder if HOI was an experiment to see how cheaply they could produce a cartoon. It had a 30 episode first season (which is pretty much unheard of for a new IP these days) and I can't imagine Disney gave them a bigger budget. But it failed because nobody watched it.
It was really, really fucking boring and unfunny. I called it quits after like four episodes.
