I wish they'd focus more on the lower, more mundane areas of magic. I don't give a shit about Strange Academy or the neverending cycle of Sorcerers Supreme, but I'd love to see more street magic. The hustlers trying to get by. Maybe that's more of a DC thing but DC magic has been shit since they turned Hellblazer into a superhero and made everyone part of the Justice League

And I guess Ellis' old Hellstrom and Druid series kind of had the gritty and surreal vibe of some Hellblazer runs.I always felt like Cloak and Dagger could easily have been shifted in a more mystical direction, and might have benefited from it. Their whole entanglement with the Darkforce (relating to Chthon, the Darkhold, and vampires) and D'Spayre (IIRC he's a Fear Lord, a peer of Nightmare and others) makes it a short leap, narratively. And it's not like these characters have had anything better going on for the past thirty years.
