This is where I lost interest in Astro City. How do you guys feel about this and Astro City in general?
>>152323327asstro shitty
>>152323327Astro City is top tier hopecore. It's the bright future, the shining beacon, the success story. I believe in a better future, dammit. We're going to make it if we have to be dragged kicking and screaming into it.
Yeah, I didnt finish it either but I have every issue. And every issue of the Vertigo volume even though I didnt more than skim any of them. Kek. One day I'll get around to it.
>>152323327Overall I liked what I read but also feel like it's sometimes a mixed bag due to the episodic and multiple pov format. I was lukewarm on the Dark Age stuff with the brothers.>>152324011I feel like it should at least get more attention as part of the push back against the worst excesses of dark and edgy in the 80s.
>>152324011>>152324314While I enjoyed volumes one and two of Astro City, I disagree. 80s comics were more promising, and thus give me more positive feelings. The yearning to move forward, to really see the medium grow, passion combined with tighter writing, that's what the 80s were hinting at. Sure, stories were a bit darker, but that made them all the more engrossing.

>>152323327>Astro City in generalIt's an interesting exploration of capeshit that allows for things that Marvel and DC don't without being deconstuctive.
