I am curious.
>>152326903No interest at all. I occasionally like watching dnd campaigns if I love the people playing (ie not critical role) but turning a loose improv game into a tight animated narrative sounds like something only an idiot would attempt.
Nott The Goblin deserves her own spin-off.
>>152326903Is there such a thing as too much set up. Felt like by the last episode they barely started being an actual adventure group
>>152326949That said I really like all the characters
>>152326951
I like that they prematurely broke up a steamy lesbian make-out scene by pointing out the chick hadn't taken a shower in forever. Nice bod to realism.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6Tvi1oJZWA
>>152326956Ahort tomboy was cute but I never got over the maggots
>>152326949>>152326951I do agree with that. The show takes too long, but I like the group.AND that Beau's lust for tall strong women doesn't just come out of nowhere. It's established early she has a type for huge powerful females.
>>152326903Absolutely baffled that was where they ended the season.
>>152326962Marion is an absolute babe.
>>152326962>>152326960True true, also funny they kept making fun of Caleb for that. So in reality compared to Caleb you wouldn't notice if you were funky
>>152326969
>>152326978
>>152326979>I did eat a cat once. . . . Nobody told me what was in the stew
Not a good look when instead of discussion the thread is just AI screenshot edits
>>152326988Well I'm out if that makes you feel better
>>152326969>Cowgirl in lingerieWould ask out.
>>152326988Well I think Nott should STAY a damn Goblin, or at least be recognizably herself as Veth.
>>152326965I mean it’s a good hook for a season finale but yeah it felt way too short of a season
>>152326903Vox Machina suffers too much from power creep (which I guess is a natural byproduct of it being a D&D adaptation). Felt like they weren't incompetent enough at the start as the narrative treated them and now most of the teams are avatars/chosen of gods.
>>152327049Even Yasha is mind-controlled, and she's basically a walking TANK already.Just wish her design was a bit more recognizably feminine. It feels like reverse "They drew a woman and called it a man" trope.
It really doesn't surprise me a secretly rebellious but relatively disciplined warrior woman would fall in love with a gigantically buff BARBARIAN chick.
>>152327049>>152327071didn't watch the show and don't read wikis but how bad does my wife have itdoes she become a chosen of her god or does her faith fall apart
>>152327089No idea.
>>152327119thanks anyways:c
I wish Beau dressed as "Tracy" more. It's easy to imagine her playing the helpless party girl being scooped up by the raiding barbarian warrior woman.
>>152327175I think we should scrap Beau entirely and just stick with Tracy
>>152327186I favor a compromise. Beau is her "work persona", but Beau misses her old life of being a wild party girl. So Beau adopts the "Tracy" persona when she wants a break from work, and she wants a break from it often. It also gets her the best sex from the gigantically buff lesbian woman, who unsurprisingly likes her party girl look.
>>152327049I agree. At least THREE Of the characters have entities boosting their stats artificially high.
>>152326903I want Jester to peg me.
>>152327305Jester does seem the type. She's very playful and her supporter is literally a god of mischief.
>>152326949Now I will watch the show
>>152327309That and the fact she always making dildos
>>152327325She's fond of overconfident and inexperienced heroes.
>>152327089Yes Pike is the most chosen out of the whole cast as she's the only one who is dedicated to the godsShe would be the most powerful if ashley knew how to play her right
>>152327381Oh? What's Ashley doing wrong with her?
>>152326903They're alright; Vox is entertaining enough, but they're sort of already passed the most interesting parts of the campaign at this point. Nein was a bit slow in the setup, but I always felt like the second campaign just had much stronger and more interesting characters overall compared to the first (and far better than the third) so it's been a very comfy watch.
>>152327388Ashley has no idea how to play the game They have been playing 5e for 10+ years and she doesn't know what to do and needs to be retaught combat everytime She has played a cleric, barbarian, druid, and now a paladinThe strongest classes in the game yet she's the second or first the go down in combat
>>152327388NTA but Ashley was pretty consistently known for completely forgetting how to play DnD between her stints on the show. Constantly having to remember what her spells and skills are, how to add bonuses, what to roll for damages, what her characters' basic strengths and weaknesses are. When you're 100+ sessions into a campaign and still forgetting how to heal as a cleric or how to rage as a barbarian it can make things pretty frustrating for the rest of the table.
I hope if Nott turns back into Veth, she's still recognizably Nott. Don't change the personality much or the appearance. We know Nott, we never knew Veth. Therefore just make Veth a slight variation on Nott so it isn't jarring.
>>152326949Nott is way too hard on herself. She is gorgeous.
>>152327175i just don't like that color on her. she looks good in cooler colors like green
>>152327872Someone could edit it so the dress is green.
>>152326903Largely shit. Critical Role always felt like they had a script they were following, and I don't really have any interest in watching aging theater kids reading lines from somebody's fanfiction. I always preferred groups like Legends of Avantris, which always felt a lot more like a bunch of the people I used to play D&D with just fucking with the DM for an hour.Unless you're asking specifically about the cartoons, in which case Vox Machina was absolute fucking dogshit and I'm not going to watch Mighty Nein because I can't stand Nott's godawful voice.
>>152328282>Not liking the Team MomHeresy!!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmIbyFwC9a4
>>152328307Not my fault they made the goblin sound a dude getting beaten with a bag of dying cats.
>>152327049That's the nature of D&D. At least one person per campaign I've had with my friends is being backed by a God or some other Deity. One campaign one of our players became an Avatar of Death or something, another campaign our Cleric was turned into a Saint with longevity by their God and the Paladin was being backed by the same God too and our Druid became the Guardian of the Forest with primordial powers and for our current campaign our Hexblade Warlock has a Fey Wolf totally not the Nine-tailed Fox from Naruto living inside them, our Bardlock is actively getting called a bitch by heir Hag mom and the Cleric is there too
>>152328425That feels like cheating to me.
>>152328455Just how D&D is, you're playing characters that can warp reality and characters who are strong enough to kill people who warp reality with your bare hands and chances are you're getting sponsored by powerful entities which in turn could turn you into a powerful entity if you play your cards rightBy being a Necromancer you've opened up the option of becoming a powerful Lich, as a Warlock you've got the backing of a deity who has a more direct invested interest in directly helping you than a Cleric's vagueposting God, as a Sorcerer you're born better than everyone else and as a Druid Shepherd or a Conjuration Wizard you can control creatures stronger than you to fight in your battles. It's all a bunch of bullshit
>>152328601Meh. I want to build a character who survives on their own merits, which means fighting opponents who are on my level and thus knowing when to walk away, and know when to run.
>>152328661Play a Martial Class then, probably rogue. This is also just a personal way of playing too so you could still play a Caster class and still do what you want to do, you don't necessarily have to become a God by the end of your campaign. My current character is just a Conjuration Wizard with no lofty goals outside of proving they're a good adventurer and my "just in case" second character is a scumfucking Bladesinger Wizard trying to get by on bullshitting
>>152328699I like the idea of having some magic, but mostly just being a fighter. Not enough magic to just wipe out my foes easily, but enough to get to play around with it a bit.
>>152328895The thing about magic users, especially Wizards is that if you can get close to them it's fucking over for'em. They fold easily, my Wizard was fucked down to 5hp from two whole attacks from a CR 3 enemy and the only reason why I didn't get downed was because I have a built in escape option. It's only do to that and knowing how to engage a fight that I'm the only member of the Party who hasn't taken a dirt nap or got possessed by my Patron to avoid a dirt napIf you're looking to be a Fighter with magic then go with Eldritch Knight
>>152326903I enjoy "Mighty Nein" and "Vox Machina."
>>152326903I dropped Vox Machina after eight episodes. Don't remember why, Amazon just shows me that's where I stopped watching. Love Mighty Nein though.
>>152326903Saturday morning cartoon tier but advertised ''for Adults'' because there is nudity and swear words. It's garbage.
>>152327872>>152328215I mean to be fair, she only wore it because Jester couldn't go and they already had the dress.
>>152326903I like it but the low episode count irks me to no end, even if the eps are 45 min long.Nein felt odder than Vox since it was an origin three parter while Vox just jumped i with the team. I'm kinda glad Sam riegel is voicing his character but also...i dunno how to describe it.I have no idea where things are going but im optimistic.
>>152329541You now reminded me that her boobs were probably pressed up in the dress considering it was fitted for jester.
>>152329577Someone's gonna breed them.
>>152329636Definitely. Emphasized them.
>>152329737Made for Barbarian Yasha to "pillage" (in sex games).
>like Nott (not even in a goblin sexo way I just like her)>already know what happens to her from years ago just through osmosis>mfw I look up her original formI mean that's. Kind of a downgrade in my opinion. Is Sam still gonna voice her?
>>152329879In fairness, they can redesign her for the series so she pretty much looks like Nott except in Halfling form.
>>152329879Well it's the character he made so yeah he's gonna voice it
>>152330052I like overall how they handled this. Beau didn't throw a bitch tantrum about not getting lesbian sex, and the other woman didn't go off on a rant about the importance of showering.
>>152329879afaik the "canon" halfling appearance was some fanart by a crazy redditor which is why she's a fat mexican.
>>152330181It's so annoying. Veth should LOOK like Nott, because besides being a Halfling, they're the same damn individual. Can someone draw Veth as basically Halfling-form Nott?
>>152330576Nott be like, "I so want to milk her now!"
>>152327472It's because people hate gobbers
>>152330723She also has long standing self-esteem issues dating back to her childhood
>>152330723Her Halfling form should be gorgeous as well, if the showrunners are aware of the backlash about Veth. If Veth and Nott are indeed the same individual, they should look nigh-identical regardless of type.
>>152329879Is it a midna situation?
>>152330851More like it doesn't feel like Nott and someone just took the opportunity to get fandom to draw their OC.
>>152326903I watched Vox, it was alright. Mighty seems like the same shit with "new" characters.I'm good.
>>152326903Is it true she’s not actually a goblin, but got turned into one? That seems needlessly complicated and I’m not a fan of it.
>>152331017Yeah it would have been better if she was a Goblin who rebelled against Goblin society, becoming a rogue.
Woke trash
>>152330851God I hate "True Form" Midna.
>>152331095This actually makes sense. Jester is pretty close to her mom, so one can imagine things crossed into Wincest.
>>152331017so what's her "true" form look like?
>>152329879Hold out hope, anon. If the animators have even the slightest bit of self-awareness, they'll realize how retarded having the potbellied micropig version of Veth waddling around trying to do rogue shit will look and go with a more reasonable design instead.
>>152331137Sadly it doesn't look like a Halfling form of Nott at all, which should by all rights look gorgeous because Nott is stunning as a GOBLIN.
>>152331156This is better because I can see way more of Nott in this design.
>>152331137I don't hate the design in a vacuum and kinda dig the colorful Mexican look but it just doesn't look like Nott.
>>152331195Maybe she could wear a necklace and some gauntlets as Veth, to mirror the positioning of the bandages on Nott-form's forearms and neck.
>>152331137
>>152331228>>152331195This is more on point.
>>152331231The expression is wrong. She needs to have the personality behind the face. You don't spend forever as a Goblin and just switch back to Halfling-mode immediately.
>>152331231>>152331228I am going to abandon the show now
>>152326928The japanese did it nicely.
>>152331284We still don't know what design the showrunners will go with. Don't roll down the hill when you don't know where all the cacti are.
>>152326903Mighty Nein has the issue of tonal whiplash, where its dark and bloody as fuck, but also still wants to be the wholesome funny found family trope that VM was. And it flops really bad because of it. The ex Gustapo guy should really be unredeemable, and its crazy those guys want to still be friends with him after what he CHOSE to do. Vox Machina doesnt have nearly as much bagagge and pulls it off way better, MN is just flawed.
>>152331302Is she turning into a cow?
>>152331284understandable really
>>152331346It does bug me they forgive that whole twisted guy after he sells out his best friend.I mean come on Caleb! You can score a better guy than that evil weirdo.
>>152331362Essek? Caleb and Essek get together?
So Essek is totally an absolute War Criminal who should have been thrown in prison right?Ridiculously pretty doesn't equal innocent.
>>152331380Yes. He bangs the WAR CRIMINAL. And I feel it's totally out of character for him. I mean come on! Why Critical Role did you give ESSEK of all people a pass? He's absolutely evil.
>>152331362They are both mass murdering criminals who aided a monster in killing more people, and are both treated like their crimes were as bad as the VM guys, even though they are far worse than even some of the villains they fight.I would be okay with it if the show treated them as true dark people who are beyond redemption, but may try their best to fix their misdeeds. But the show just has too many funny gags with them to fit their very deeply disturbing actions. Not to mention half the party now are half responsible for slaughtering the purple tieflings whole circus family and they also get away with it. Its like the show wants to be dark like Game of Thrones but still have the Vox Machina silliness and sweetness. It doesnt work.
>>152331349Wouldn't be the first time
>>152331077There’s so few goblin characters in mainstream stuff, especially animated fantasy shows. If she was just a goblin, I would probably check out the show.
>>152331433The showrunners really, really need to tread carefully with Caleb/Essek. They gotta tone this crap down a LOT to sell it to the audience.Yes I can totally see the horribly damaged Caleb as having sex with a male. But he needs someone who is better than him, not WORSE.
>>152331402The lesson cartoon and comic fans have made clear for a while is that they will absolutely allow evil people to be forgiven, as long as they're hot and gay.
>>152331457>"This is serious. We need to get you to a milk machine fast! Nurse Chapel, I need 50 cc of cortisone!"
>>152331477Essek doesn't have the excuse of being an absolute basketcase like Caleb is, who is just a total mess.
>>152331510Is this AI?
>>152331517Of course it is. You can see the flaws in the other woman's upper arm (near absolute center, the rendering is off creating a subtle band). Also she isn't Beau's type. She needs to be taller and way buffer.
>>152331470A compromise could be making Veth and Nott separate characters, becoming close friends. Thus we get Veth's quest to get back home and Nott's desire to be seen as more than just your typical Goblin at the same time.
Can this show fix Essek in Season 2 to make the icky War Criminal vibes go away?
>>152331709He's not evil, he's just a sad boy who loves his dementia mom
>>152331735So they toned down his immoral deeds for the show?
>>152331792I really wonder what Adult Jester will be like. She'll probably have a gigantic bosom and a libertine personality, resembling her mom but lacking the agoraphobia. She'd still have her sense of mischief, but tempered by experience.
>>152329879>Make a goblin PC who provides a good message about how positive traits and qualities can come from all kinds of places and how no one is inherently evil/worthless>Scrap it entirely with "lol actually she's just one of the good races, don't worry"I'm still mad
>>152331746What else does he do besides stealing the artifact for the empire and then selling out his friend to the queen?
>>152331746Oh no, he's still doing fucked up shit. But we get to see at least see his progress down the road paved with good intentions for a bit.You can empathize with a character without excusing their actions.
>>152331812And by adult, I mean MILF well into her mid-40s.
>>152331827Yeah making Nott a secret Halfling was stupid.
>>152332013I feel D&D places way too much emphasis on overpowering the player characters. Everyone wants to slay everything powerful right away, instead of patiently building characters up over time.
>>152326903I find it weird how they have no problem drawing dicks, nor a problem with nudity for background characters, but they absolutely won't let a nip slip for main characters like Vex or Beau during sex or bath scenes.
>>152332088They could at least let Jester cast a breast expansion spell.
ScriptedFakeGayFuck Combat Wheelchairs
>>152332188>Combat wheelchairsI would unironically find it awesome if the show had a badass magic-using paraplegic."I don't NEED legs to kick your sorry ass!"
>>152332788Unsurprisingly Beau became her bride. Vasha is EXACTLY her type: hyper-powerful, tall as hell, and extremely buff. Just wish she had a Viking-style breast-plate that emphasized her bosom.
I'd like the humor more if it was smarter, poking fun at the inherent absurdities of D&D instead of just a lot of swearing.
>>152333176>a lot of swearing. That's the problem with most animated/fantasy content aimed at adults. I'm not sure if it's worse that the creators actually think it's funny or if that they're just throwing it in because they don't have enough faith in the rest of the content.
>>152326903Lost interest when I was told this goblin wasn't actually a goblin.
>>152333238That's why "Haunted Hotel" works way better than this show. It deals with loaded concepts like suicide.
>>152333832I honestly have zero idea why they did that. Nott should have just stayed a rebel Goblin.
>>152326903s'okay
>>152334443Hmmm. Me and penis have a lot to discuss if we do find this attractive.
>>152326903She's a good mom

I thought the Ancient Dragons were too easily dealt with. At that age they should essentially be demigods, have large armies, and running elaborate conspiracies centuries in the making. And I thought going up a dragons ass was dumb even for a crazy show like this. But I still found Vox Machina to be enjoyable. And as for Mighty Nein, I wanna FUCK that goblin!
>>152336608>oh haha look at these bunglers bungling it up again>oh fuck all those people are dead
>>152337273yeah weird how it took a kid dying and not a circus full of people and kids for them to get serious. Then they immediately get jokey again
I enjoy them and can't imagine hating them. Disliking them, sure, we're not all going to like the same things. But hate? Yeesh.
>>152326903Didn't like the look of them so I've ignored their existence.
>>152337947Sucks she died. She needed bisexual correction.
>>152335477That felt really out of character for her. I mean she is absolutely fixated on returning home.Nott becoming Veth is the effective end of her adventuring, unless she raises her son to be an adventurer too.
>>152326903Highly satanic shows with demons, magic and homersexuals
>>152339836>HomersexualsI think Bartsexuals are better.
>>152339836DnD's pretty wimpy. I never got a satanic vibe from it, just a nerdy one.
>>152340260It's definitely pretty tame, even afraid to make most antagonists truly evil.
>>152331473>They gotta tone this crap down a LOT to sell it to the audience.Agreed 100% if they want a more mainstream audience besides just a niche one.M9 is already looking out to be more decadent than Vox with the longer episodes. So Amazon probably has big expectations of since LOVM was a big hit, and I don't know if S1 of Mighty Nein was as successful as they maybe expected.
>>152341323Essek and Caleb need to begin their redemption arcs right away in Season 2, in earnest.
>>152339828From both of her stinky captors?
>>152341532Yup. Caleb and Beau.
>>152326903Vox Machina is too basic of an adventure, everyone is an elf too, sad. Mighty Nein is great, tv show makes everything way gayer and lamer than it is in the podcast. fandom for both is absolutely the worst, full with women and "women", absolute tumblr.Nott is their best character from all campaigns, even after transformation back. Caduceus is also a great character, his official art is meh, fan art is tipple bad. It's alright, cool that it exists, but could have been better. Too much steven universe tier mah emotions moments.
I wish the battles were more consistently chaotic.
>>152341101You realize the antagonists are created by the people playing it, right?
>>152344427I know. So far, I'm not particularly impressed by the antagonists.
I know basically nothing about the podcast but I believe that all the cult shit with the tiefling rogue guy should link back to Fjord being the chosen one of some ancient sea monster. Evil Empire plot feels like the main driver to get the party moving and personal connections but ancient evils are the meat of the heroic journey.
>>152334443Would get fucked to death by
>>152346307She's got the power for sure.
>>152326903I'm tired of the overwhelming faggotry that is pushed there. It's like liking vagina is forbidden unless you are also a girl or if you're a guy you should also spread your cheeks for cock. Also I was only able to watch the M9 with Japanese dub so Nott isn't voiced by post cancer voice actor but instead having actual actress for a female character. I don't care if it's ego, paying a bro or sheer stupidity but apparently it's up to Japanese to let us enjoy even little things like a gobbo girl.
I read a bunch of what ends up happening in the podcast awhile ago and I think that combining some of the plots would definitely be a good idea. Also was annoyed to find out that they never got around to what was up with the elf that blew up Fjord's ship.
>>152326903Is the villain wizard meant to be extremely 2dimensional and hilariously bad and shallow at manipulating? I can't feel bad for either Caleb or fag drow because they just feel plain dumb as bricks for falling for anything the dude said to them. They never double check any information he feeds them, don't have second guesses, just blindly follow instructions. In the end Caleb feels like an angsty retard that killed his own family for nothing without even considering that maybe they aren't traitors. Terribly written
>>152346766Caleb was like 16 when he and Trent (his fucking name is TRENT) met and he was essentially groomed by THE empire's propaganda master, he was screwed the second he got in that carriage so I can offer him grace. Essek OTOH comes across as having grown up so comfortable that he's never really had any sort of struggles which allowed him cultivate his "heh, my people are so stupid, but I am so enlightened and can see what the artifact can really be used for" attitude.
>>152346818That is narrative from the campaign that didn't really got translated well into the show. Elf basically gets tricked by a short talk and fucking cup of tea.
>>152346818I hate Essek. Caleb deserves a guy who can fix him. Not a war criminal.
>>152336608I had no idea this character was supposed to be a kid until the goblin started spazzing out about her. I assumed she was a 30something halfling.
>>152347473I thought the same. Especially since she travels with a giant toad monster with no supervision. If she's a kid why there is no parent figure around her? Or is Molly too busy getting fucked in the asshole to commit as co-owner of the circus
>>152326903In a sea of Rick and Mortys and Family Guy "adult" series, it's refreshing to see some animation that isnt just a sitcom and has some narrative continuity...but i feel that I only tolerate shows like this because there isnt much else. I like the concept of an animated DND campaign but I dont care for how critical role plays it. I also find it extremely jarring when they try so hard to make their stories feel so dark then have whiplashes to characters acting like theyre from a Saturday morning cartoon.
>>152347671She only contracted with the circus because she needed a venue. From what I could tell from dialogue she didn't answer to anyone, she was the business owner and decision maker for her traveling toad show, in addition to controlling the toad demon itself with her magic voice and fireflies. Setting up a reliable source of fireflies, which were explicitly stated to be rare and expensive, was probably an impressive bit of business logistics all by itself. Her death is probably the most significant character death in the show in terms of long term ramifications for the wider setting, because if she had lived long enough to reach adulthood she would have conquered the world.
>>152331307Goblin Slayer lost the plot
>>152347671iirc in the podcast she was part of the circus where i'm assuming it was like a foundling situation (she also doesn't die). i wonder why they changed it and if there will be more to her.
>>152347790I wasn't talking about GS, I like the game though. There are a few anime that started as board games .
SEX!WITH!JESTER!
>>152339828She was a better character than the two gestapo agents that Caleb was in a throuple with. They should have built on the rivalry dynamic she had with him in the flashback instead of killing her off.
>>152347680I felt the scene your pic is taken from was gratuitous, like it didn't all need to be seen with the crying, taking two chops and holding up the head. It could have even just shown the executioner with the audio so that the viewer could infer what was happening.
>>152327089Walking, talking onahole.
stinky goblin girl feet
>>152347473same felt she was more mature than jester, thought she was some type of halfing enchantress but nope a kid
>>152347671>>152347473Honestly this was my thought too as she really was on her own with a murder frog. But makes you wonder what is she because iirc she's now a >Half halfling>Half elfBut since halflings do everything in half does that mean she's techincally a adult or does her elf side make her age slower. honestly I would love a series that really touched on the weird horrific combinations rpg/dnd players make and how'd they'd be viewed and work in canon. Because you've now got the shortest life span x the longest wtf happens there? Does she live for half a sec but never fully ages up, does she live for a normal human life span. Does she live a elf life span? Does she live half of both?
>>152348254In most cases, it's just a fade to black after the first swing. Showing a botched execution in all it detail just felt really tryhard, even game of thrones in all its grittiness just had simply clean executions...then after that scene they go back to the party having their usual banter feels more like you just accidentally changed the channel and started watching a different show entirely
>>152346996If they want this show to have more mainstream appeal they should set Caleb up with Jester since they apparently had very good chemistry in the campaign.Jester and Fjord interactions are cute but also kinda shallow so far.
