Rewatched the first episode of Arthur, had two thoughts about Francine .
1. Was she originally supposed to be black instead of Jewish?
2. Holy shit she used to be a bitch

Race exists in Arthur. If "racism" is canonical in Arthur, so is race. This scene happened after George Floyd.

It feels like Buster should be the token white guy because he is white, but really a lot of them are supposed to be white.

It's still pretty jarring that such an event is just canon in Arthur, I know the show has tackled some serious topics, but in the end it was ultimately sugarcoated for kids and the world is idealistic "Everything works out in the end". A George Floyd event just feels like some fanfiction that feels like it would be or become a shitpost, but no, it's official.
