Is Spawn at a good place right now for me to jump back on board? I just saw that Brett Booth is drawing and he is an old favorite. Flipping through some recent scans it looks like he still has it and the book has some good colors too. Who are these niggas/what do I need to know to catch up

I only read Scorched but it's almost completey nonsensical stream of consciousness from the writer put onto paper. There are barely individual confrontations or encounters, it's all just aimless floundering towards a mysterious overarching plot that never becomes any clearer. Characters are introduced only to throw one punch them disappear. A big world ending threat is introduced only for it to get interrupted by another one. Characters betray each other or form alliances without any real consequence to follow. If it didn't start publication when it did, I would assume it was a AI written script.
No idea how the main comic is doing.
