Pim and Charlie would do about the same as Mordecai and Rigby but Mordecai and Rigby aren't peppy optimists like Pim so making people smile would be harder for them.

Mordecai & Rigby might overcome their narcissism by being tasked with helping another person and surprise everyone with how capable they are. Pim & Charlie would do better as park keepers, and the show would be actually Regular, not anything but.
