The miracle of childbirth and Fran's thighs
>>
I’ve never had to raise a puppy before, but kittens really do get progressively easier and easier. until old age hits, at least

All of the dog owners I know with adolescent dogs do make it sound like they hit a serious adolescent rough patch after the infancy phase wears off.

The comic is talking about birthing

Do cats have harder births than dogs?

The movie Milo and Otis gave me the impression they were about the same.

Not my sweetie. She just slowly learned to stop biting too hard. Maybe I lucked out on a good one.

So I know the joke is that giving birth to something covered in spines would obviously probably suck. But do porcupines really have difficult births comparable to hyenas and kiwis? I would sorta assume the spines would be softer pre-birth and then harden later.

- Spotted hyenas give birth through their pseudopenis, which is shredded in the process (and may actually kill the mother).
- Porcupine babies are born with fully functional quills, which can puncture the mother's birth canal on the way out.
- Kiwi birds lay a single massive egg which accounts for roughly a third of her body weight. For comparison, a kiwi egg is the same size as an emu egg. The kiwi herself is only five inches long.

The spines on a baby porcupine are soft when they are born, and harden pretty quickly post-birth.

My son was an amazing cat whose only fault was being in the way while you walked.
And bad kidneys

Around 1 to years dogs hit their teenage phase where they start intentionally ignoring commands and training.

That sounds terrible.
