Much of Charlie's problem in both seasons is that the show refuses to have her do anything useful and excuses itself by saying that Charlie is a pacifist who hates violence and wants to solve her problems peacefully, which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that talking has never worked and all problems have been solved through violence. In the first season, Charlie fails to convince Heaven to stop the exterminations, and everything is resolved thanks to Lucifer beating up Adam and Niffty killing him. In the second season, Charlie literally helps Vox thanks to her stupidity, and it is Alastor who prevents Vox from winning by fighting him and causing him to suffer a mental breakdown.
