Comics aren't any different than any other form of literature. There aren't people that say, "I only read modern books that were released this month!". No, most books that people read are years, maybe decades, maybe even centuries old. Comics aren't any different, most of the best ones were written before anyone reading this was even born, just by law of averages. So just read what looks good and don't worry about reading what the kids are into.
