>>152468557Like everything else in the galaxy, the Tau are a spectrum. Some will geld you, others will control you with pheromones, the Farsight Enclaves will generally leave you be. It all depends on where you are. It's all meant to be kindling for the story the player wants to tell.

The traitor will indeed have her soul eternally tormented on death in ways mortal minds can't comprehend unless she is claimed by the emperor. Big E was not a god, but now he is due to the power of belief. The Tau are naive fools who are likely being psychically controlled by the etherals and as the fourth expansion sphere shows, will wind up just becoming every other species in the galaxy and absolutely genocidal. Life in the imperium is a metaphorical living hell. It has to be. Otherwise it would become a literal hell you can only pray for death in.
