Did his comic book career deserve to end because he talked to a lot of women?
>>
No and I'd really love for INJECTION to start up again and run for 32 issues or so. Didn't Shalvey say he was up for it? Ellis got his fucking Warner Brothers Batman book put out, you'd think it'd make him less toxic again and be able to get back to biz, let's go.
>>
>>152470856
He deserves it for getting the hacks from his forums jobs in the industry.
>>
>>152470856
his comic book career ended the moment he started getting hollywood money, nothing to do with all that shit

>>
>has cyber sex
>loses everything
Women are so fucking stupid
>>
>>152470856
Didn't he create one of those weird closed off parasocial social groups like projared?
>>
>>152470856
he looks like fat Frank Miller
>>
>>152470856
For ruining Castlevania with his atheist shit.
>>
>>152470856
No, it deserved to end because he sucked and ruined comic books.
>>
>>152470856
He deserves rope, but not because of women
>>
>>152470856
He's a monkey paw for me. I absolutely detested him and his work but fucking your consenting adult groupies isn't a crime.
>>
>>152471601
This was the case that really soured me on the whole metoo shit.

I think Warren Ellis is a self-aggrandizing blowhard, but literally all this dude did was have long conversations with women over the Internet. Women who orbited him because he was big in the industry these women wanted to break into. He wasn't sexually harassing, much less assaulting anyone. He wasn't talking to minors. He wasn't talking to anyone who hadn't willingly talked to him.

What's more ALL of those groupies he had knew Ellis was married. They all willingly started messing with a married man and then got angry when they realized he wasn't committing to any of them and that he would distance himself when he got bored of them.
>>
>>152472546
That's the funny thing he wasn't fucking them. At least not 99% of them. There were like one or two women who actually spent a night with Ellis and they readily admitted it was 100% consentual. Warren Ellis didn't fuck any of those other women the dude just fucking talked to them lol
>>
>>152472641
'fraid so. I like a lot of his work but he does seem like an asshole. His entire cancellation is bullshit and I don't know how these retarded bags managed to convince everyone he was a monster when they were obviously using him as well.
>>
>>152472641
>>152472672
I forget, was Ellis the one who started horny drunktexting in the middle of a professional convo? Then woke up the next morning like "OH MY GOD I AM SO SORRY!"
Which one was that?
>>
>>152473299
Don't think it was Ellis but I hope someone here remembers who it was because it sounds hilarious
>>
>>152473299
Fucking kek nah that wasn't him.

Warren's whole thing was befriending and then sexting grown ass women. Women who then became scornful when they realized they weren't anything special to him.

You can read their testimonials over at somanyofus.com

It's full of women in their 20s and 30s claiming they were groomed by him, and I'm not making that up or exaggerating.
>>
>>152473419
Women who were in their 20s and 30s when they met him*
>>
>>152473325
>>152473419
That one is like, holy shit I wish I could remember the name because she sends a professional text and he tries to play off what she said while capslocking about how badly he wants to fuck her.

I shouldn't laugh because it was unprompted sexual harassment and I'm guessing that knowing he saw her that way scared the shit out of her which was the real nature of that one, but just like, how much of a clear drunk text it was.
Just complete fucking left field, god I'd kill to fucking remember which one that was.
>>
>>152473501
Fucking amazing kek. I hope this will job the memory of some other anon.
>>
>>152473501

Wait, do you mean Justin roiland? He's the one who reminds me of what you described

Who keeps making this thread? Kill yourself Ellis and apologize to your wife
>>
>>152473960
Sorry, Janice. You weren't "groomed" by anyone. You were in your 30s.
>>
>>152472140
How so?
>>
>>152473845
Maybe.

You wanna hear something I've realized is a bitter reality around the situation?
There's an inherent squeamishness surrounding sexual misconduct or sexual offenses which predates not just #MeToo but goes back to something more Puritan era.
While we have a bunch of inspiring stories of former violent gangsters, batterers, and even killers being redeemed and reformed. We take sympathy when the offender in question is some kind of substance abuser or when we feel their crime was some moment of weakness and they can still be reformed.

Old school norms around the sacred nature of chastity have convinced us that what we'd consider "a rapist" is an irredeemable monster with no true chance of change. So when we look at sexual assault cases, we're squeamish as fuck. Even some of the #MeToo girls themselves did it, their mentally ill brother or a friend who they've known to be kind and caring is accused and suddenly they change their tune. After all, if a sex criminal is a completely inhuman monster, then anyone whose shown humanity must be totally innocent of it.
So our own squeamish asses never really wanted to go near the idea of hitting that "unperson" button on somebody. Then when #MeToo flipped, we were all in on it, but the script had been flipped, we still refused to see nuance but now in the vein of always hitting the "unperson" button even for lesser offensive moments without regard for surrounding circumstances.

Combine that with like, the general "unperson" button of the American Justice system and you realize exactly why #MeToo had so many guys on edge. Because seeing even the slightest bit of nuance in any of the cases flew in direct contrast towards how we typically view the crime itself.
>>
>>152470856
One of the lamest #MeToo cancellations. Maybe Brandon Graham was even stupider since he liked Trannies and some tranny complained that he was a chaser (as if any NORMAL person wanted to fuck a tranny in the first place)
>>
>>152473845
>muh verbal consent
That chick is too retarded to have sex.
>>
>>152473501
Sounds like Brian Wood.
>>
>>152473299
brian wood?
>>
>>152470856
>talking to women
big mistake
>>
>>152475165
The me too movement was just chink style commie struggle sessions disguised under feminism.
>>
>>152475350
>>152475386
Might be it, kinda reading into it, it sounds like this was a common thing for him.
>>
>>152473960
Fuck off, skank. You're 35 years old. You can't get groomed.
>>
>>152470856
No... but he was so unlikable and obnoxious that you really don't care that he got cancelled. Dude's a greasy loser who managed to convince an industry that he was the next Garth Ennis because he was a dickhead from across the pond.
>>
>Writes a self-insert that takes Kitty Pryde's virginity.
Man Gen-Xers really did ruin comics.
>>
>>152475866
He's a dick and I'd never want to meet him but he has written some good shit in his time
>>
>>152475899
Didn't Bendis also write a self insert that dated kitty pryde? kek
>>
>>152476016
If you count Ultimate Peter as Bendis, Then yes.
>>
>>152470856
Deserve's got nothing to do with it.
>>
>>152476038
Kong also dated Kitty
>>
>>152475866
That's the real important part. It's hard to feel sorry for an asshole two-timing his wife even if it was blown out of proportion. The fact he had spent the past decade being known for a horrid output rate and dropping projects as well didn't help either.
