Go back to Africa and stay off the internet.

Yes the ones at fault are the out of touch executives demanding cheap low effort cartoons. The same ones that are embracing AI to save even more money.
>>
AI is going to be the death of cartoons. Every time there's a new leap in animation technology, we're promised a tsunami of content, and then the opposite happens. Fewer episodes come out and the seasons get shorter. We're at digital puppet cartoons putting out 8 episodes every 3 years, nobody's going to show up for less than that.

>>152473225
Most want brain-rot/slop (the industry is doomed when it can make Tom and Jerry cartoons)
>>
>>152473129
OP was probably hoping to turn this into an emotional US VS THEM fight as if people weren't incentivized to make garbage in pursuit of maximum profits before. These strawman comics also always feel disingenuous with the assumption that if you express any criticism of AI then you must support everything else including the executive pushed crap.
>>
>>152473129
I dunno man, most of the indie stuff isn't much better than the shit the execs were always demanding.

It'd be a miracle if modern human hands could do Tom & Jerry
>>
>>152473252
The same ones that say that wanting responsible and realistic appraisals of the current utility of AI instead of just having slop shitting the entire internet in the hopes that things'll somehow be "better" five years down the line makes you some kind of "luddite" because you hate garbage, whether it's human made or robot made

>We're at digital puppet cartoons putting out 8 episodes every 3 years
That is what truly baffles me, and I'm an animator who does both traditional and puppets so I KNOW the hypothetical output these studios could have.
>>
>>152473772
animators are capable, there's just no one rioting for modern day slapstick
>>
>>152473119
It do be like that Mr. Stancil
>>
>>152474026
The problem.is the industry is bereft of creativity. Ai isnt creative. It needs you to give it ideas. They want to use ai to fire all of their artisinal laborers, but still keep their fag and skirt parade of pretenders.
>>
>>152475401
Precisely. So I have no idea why people are celebrating the idea of AI replacing people. We'll still be getting garbage, it'll just look far far worse.

Why is the location symbol above the pitch meeting guy? Is he getting doxxed for using AI?
>>152473772
The problem is that you don't get more money for animating well. All you need to do is create blorbos so people buy merch.

Yeah, "these new tools will making animating so much easier"
>takes 5 times as long to make a worse looking product
>>
>>152475509
That's my point, it shouldn't take longer and I can back that statement up by my own experience with puppet animation. It's all just overhead dragging their feet and hiring less people.
>>
>>152472999
I can hate ai and I can hate talentless retarded animators. I don't have to pick a side.
>>
>>152475634
It is also a product of streaming, everything now releases one ""season"" a year, all at once.

Season in heavy quotes because the length is completely random.
>>
>>152475509
There really was a boom with flash, but it was mostly quarantined to low budget studios in Canada or PBS. Then Rick and Morty happened, people forgot why Rick and Morty worked, and said "Guess the technology is ready".
>>
>>152472999
Yep. "Artists" and animators are too narcissistic to understand how subpar their efforts have been for years. But they still demand more respect and pay. I hate AI but they created the climate that led to people welcoming it.
>>
>>152475714
Streaming is a whole nother layer to the problem. In theory, you could just let a show like Amphibia run for 10 years and pump out 1 episode every 2 weeks, but everything surrounding the animators is not agile enough for that.
>>
>>152475810
I think those people also forgot that Rick and Morty is an Adult Swim production, which is to say it's sharing a network with 12 Oz Mouse and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, not exactly where one should get their standards of animation from

You won't steer the conversation away from blaming your paymasters, Hans. Get off 4chan. Ssllout cuck.
>>
this is such a fucking stupid repeated point that i don't even want to waste time explaining why you're retarded, but please know that you are.
>>
>>152475941
>blaming your paymasters
I bellyache for free. I hate for AI and people wouldn't had flocked to it if it weren't for years upon years of ugly and minimum-effort animation.
>>
>>152476083
I hate AI*.
>>
>>152476083
People aren't flocking to it, though.
>>
>>152476083
You're right, but not for the reason you think you are.
It's less that people are flocking to AI and more that the animation industry spent so long appealing to the lowest common denominator, forgetting that the lowest common denominator is perfectly pleased with garbage on social media, which includes AIslop, so no matter what trying to appeal to them in a post-AI world is ALWAYS going to result in failure, because the AI generated slop is always going to be cheaper and easier than even cheap outsourced animation.
>>
>>152476185
You know what, that is likely too.
>>
>>152476083
>>152476185
Your premise is flawed. Nobody is flocking to WATCH AI animation, they're flocking to MAKE it, and being universally dunked on for it. NOBODY wants this.
>>
>>152476749
You misread the post.
It's not that people are flocking to AIshit, it's that the lowest common denominator sees all media as being at the same level as scrolling through their social media feed.
Whether it's AIslop or the most amazing, passionate, and well-made piece of media ever, it's all the same to them.

>>

I still cannot believe a show named Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese actually got greenlit.
That is such a lazy fucking name and worthless premise that it's almost impossible to believe it's real.
>>
>>152476981
nah it won't. there isn't enough money in the world to cash the checks openAI is writing.
>>
>>152475327
There's also no one wanting to pay for it and give it its time. Old T&J shorts were treated as actual works of art that were expected to be of high quality and vying for academy recognition. Now it's just flashing lights slop for the idiot box where anyone with talent is instead having it used to shit out based on speed instead of quality.

AI is just the most efficient way to the downward spiral that they are already in by believing in this horseshit.
>>
>>152477051
It'll have to come back eventually. Whenever they run out of ideas.
>>
>>152476981
Super Noobs doesn't look that bad, and neither does Little Ellen if you disregard the fact that it's a show about Ellen Degeneres
