I feel like most adamant Minion hate comes specifically from 16 to 23 year old people who are in that sweet spot in life where they’ve never had a real job, or a substantial post-high school/college passion that doesn’t in some way revolve around consuming media, and has never had any real responsibilities. I know I’m here on 4chan saying this but I genuinely do not have the time to waste being mad that a kids movie for kids exists. I can’t be mad at silly yellow nuggets who at their worst are just annoying time wasters. Bigger fucking problems in personal life and in the world to have room to hate the Minions. I like them. Fuck you.

The more long form answer is that the internet has become more and more centralized to a smaller and smaller selection of websites, people are crossposting across different sites making it all feel more and more progressively same-y, and the worst part is that every website seems to just be an extension of different parts of Discord at this point.
