>>152551856Fonts being stolen is and always has been a big issue (not just for comics, but in all print, particularly since home computers became widespread) as there's no real legal protections for them, not even copyright. Lettering is kind of fucked, but I'd still call it less "effort" (relatively) than coloring. Regarding colorists, it's a highly time-intensive job. If you see the images handed to them many are essentially adding half the detail to the art (which is why half the recolors are dogshit; they're adding detail to art that it doesn't match, but that's at publisher request). The worst part is flatting. Many colorists outsource it because it's time intensive but not skill intensive, so it's just tedious. They're often not even credited. You can say flatting requires little skill, but even the guy holding the boom mic on a set gets credit. They deserve it, too. I wanted to add the side-by-side picture showing Liefeld's Deadpool Corps issues where the colorist did the entirety of the backgrounds, but I can't find it. He's obviously an extreme example, but it's a problem that colorists are doing 1.5× jobs and not getting paid commensurate to their labour.
