Mordecai and Rigby works as a dynamic between best friends because they balance each other out enough; Rigby has social skills and is down to earth while Mordecai is socially retarded, Mordecai is more physically capable while Rigby is weak, Rigby is filthy and constantly cuts corners while Mordecai is clean and at least tries to play it straight, and so on. The worst thing about Close Enough is that most of the characters are just too boring for the show to have much engagement.
