Rewatching the show, and it's clear that the Pomni Jax thing isn't just from nowhereEp1. Pomni goes through a horrific first day Ep2. Pomni has to comfort Gummigoo, Jax treats Pomni just as badly as he treats everyone elseEp3. Pomni if comforted by KingerUp to this point, Jax has been a very minor character, mostly hanging out with Gangle, and making her play his wayEp4. Jax asks Pomni how she's doing, accepts his non answer without probing, and vibes with her more in that 2 second encounter than any other character hasStill mostly hanging out with Gangle, you can see them vibe pretty well here and it's clear they actually do have fun sometimes although Jax is clearly a bullyEp 5 is the turning point, Pomni has her first good conversation in the circus, and it's with Jax. She laughs with him multiple times, they actually connect, he doesn't want to instantly unload on her like everyone else doesEp 6 you see him eyeing up pomni when she starts asking ragatha to team up, Gangle has been his comfort until now, because she never pushes him to talk about his feelings and goes along with his behaviour. But now with Pomni he doesn't have to bully her, she's ready to actually play with him. But he can't deal with this, I think this was his dynamic with ribbit. Pomni is hurt by the rejection, but clearly sees right through Jax's maskingEp 7, Pomni meets able when she's follwing Jax off the beach, she goes out of her way to include him in everything, "Wait, don't you wanna come with us?"she clearly wants to be friends with him, and can tell that he's hurting and pushing people away.The change in his behaviour, avoiding people, giving away his possessions, very disturbing.
