Never saw the reboot, but apparently, Ben only has 10 aliens at any given point throughout the entire series, they just swap what 10 he has available. Based on what Duncan said, it seems like the comic reboot will follow suit.

Then 12 years later in Ken 10, when Gwen appears, Ben teases her and she teases back, asking when he's going to grow up. You can see how happy she is that the old Ben is back.
