That's not really a fair comparison because the problem isn't the shows, the problem is the shows that companies are willing to produce. If they stayed as open as they did in stage 1 and 2 then we would still have plenty of great shows with a wide variety of art styles. But the shows in stage 1 and 2 that were successful gave the suites tunnel vision and they started to try to predict cultural victories instead of just producing shit from creators they believed in. It happens everywhere, all the time, Zappa said it best and that was 60 years ago.
