>Announced during Robert Kirkman’s keynote at ComicsPro, Skybound and Image Comics revealed Terminal, a new superhero series launching this summer with a powerhouse creative lineup. The series is co-written by Robert Kirkman and Joe Casey, with art by Andy Kubert, David Finch, and Arthur Adams, colors by Dave McCaig, and letters by Rus Wooton. Terminal also marks Kirkman’s first return to superhero comics since Invincible. The debut issue arrives in comic shops on July 22, 2026.

>“Listen, I’ve done my fair share of press release quotes but never for anything this cool,” said Robert Kirkman. “This will be the coolest comic on the market by the best creative team ever assembled. I dare you to find a book with a more stunning array of artistic talent. Go on, I’ll wait! You can’t! I’m co-creating another vast superhero universe and I’m getting to do it along with Joe Casey, Andy Kubert, David Finch and Arthur Adams! It’s going to be great!”

>“I’ve been involved in some big launches before, but this is by far the biggest!” added Joe Casey. “This series has been many years in the making, and readers have no idea what they’re in for. The level of talent involved is completely off the charts and what we’re doing is truly epic in both ambition and scale. Terminal is what great superhero comics are all about!”

>Terminal centers on a hidden global conflict between two violent superhuman factions whose battle blurs the line between hero and villain. When Marilyn Howe begins searching for her missing sister Alessandra, she is pulled into the middle of this secret war. She soon discovers that the key to saving the world lies within her own genetic code, a transformation that could cost her everything.

>“I’ve had a very fortunate career with the big two, so for my first project outside that box since the late ‘80s, I couldn’t be more excited!” said Andy Kubert. “Being mentioned in the same breath as Kirkman, Casey, Finch and Adams along with colorist extraordinaire Dave McCaig is not only humbling but also gargantuan for me. Building characters and environments with Robert and Joe was some of the most fun I’ve had in comics. Heck, just getting to know them is a blast! And that comes through on every page and every panel. Honestly, I thought I had drawn pretty much everything until I got involved with Terminal!”

>“Terminal is everything that made me want to draw comics in the first place,” said David Finch. “Classic, high action superhero storytelling by the very best writers around, with designs and art by Andy Kubert and Arthur Adams. I can’t believe I’m even saying that! ANDY KUBERT AND ARTHUR ADAMS. On one book!! As a fan, it’s a shot of adrenalin, with fast paced action, high concept craziness, and over the top visuals. As an artist, it feels like coming home.”

>“How much fun is this? This is my first interior work in ages, and it’s been amazing being able to participate in the creation of a whole new universe of characters,” added Arthur Adams. “Amazing to work on a series with proven creators like Robert Kirkman and Joe Casey, a series that I think is going to go in directions no one is expecting. And so humbling to work on a project alongside artists like Andy Kubert and David Finch and Dave McCaig. Terminal features Heroes and Monsters galore! My kind of comic book! I hope you guys enjoy reading this as much as I’ve enjoyed working on it!”

>Terminal #1 will also launch with a special blind bag program, giving fans a chance to collect nearly all orderable covers at varying levels of rarity. Three surprise items will also be included, offering an early glimpse into the world of Terminal in a way designed to reflect Kirkman’s signature style.

>Described as a violent and unpredictable superhero epic, Terminal aims to deliver a high-stakes new universe shaped by some of the most influential creators in modern comics.

>Terminal #1 (Lunar Codes Coming Soon | SRP: $4.99) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Yeaaaah, looks like dogshit. Shitty costumes, random blacks, colors are muted. No thanks.

The amount of delays is going to be insane

According to Kirkman's speech at the retailer's convention, they will have 18 issues in the can by the time issue 1 ships

Eh..

This page looks like it was drawn by someone who's never used a keyboard.

The invincible show being well received has given Kirkman too much confidence, this is going to flop.

Joe Casey has written a lot of atrocious books over the years, but Godland was alright.

Feels a bit uninspired, but the fish alien and wolf guys look alright.

Blood Squad Seven is just terminally boring and this one seems the same

I like Adam art, he is better than Andy

Is the same when TWD was a hit.
His ego made going full tard with some twist on invencible (doing a rib against Miles "Blandest" Morales, MonsterGirl shitty drama, the bad building from Robotman turning bad,....) and releasing forgetable series like oblivion song.
But this time is going to be even worse because Energon universe selling more than most Marvel books made him untouchable
>>
>>152572849
You mean Invincible wasn't that already?
>>
>>152573856
This looks very generic. Invincible, even if it’s largely just off brand versions of other heroes, had a rarely fresh look at the time and the design stands out. There’s a reason zoomers ended up liking Mark’s design enough to produce a ton of fanart. This just has nothing.

>Kirkman
>Superheroes
It was obviously gonna be shit
