DC and Imag-Skybound Sold both 8 Million and 6 Million comics Per Absolute and Energon universe titles>Absolute Universe8 Million Copies sold>Energon Universe6 Million Copies soldFrom Rich the leech himself as othershttps://bleedingcool.com/comics/energon-has-sold-6-million-copies-absolute-has-sold-8-million/Marvel fumbled badly
still, not a great number, right? How many issues Energon Universe have?
>>152567038I keep hearing this sells well but I never see anyone read it or talk about it beyond that
>>152567148Because you don't know anybody. Also talking about comics = time wasted that you could use to be reading comics.
>>152567038Clearly Marvel needs more stupid Symbiotes and cucking Peter Parker comics. That will surely save them.
>>152567148Nah, brevoort will shove more x-men MOSTALGIA MCU shit and YOU WILL LIKE IT!
>>152567038I get Absolute selling well. That seems to have really caught on. But Energon as well? I didn't think Transformers comics still had it in them. Was Energon Universe also a reboot of some kind or was it a continuation of some previous line?
>>152567322Literally Hasbro mandated reboot to forget IDW did since faggotry and trannies tanked everything.
>>152567133It’s not, the 8 mill from absolute isnt really either. Wonder woman and Batman both have 17 issues an annual and a special, Martian Manhunter has 8 issues so far, Superman is at 17. Thats 59 issues without flash or GL which I don’t know the issue number off the top of my head. Thats 135 per issue and we KNOW abs bat 1 is well about 500K dropping all the rest to 127K each. Assuming Batman didnt plummet that far it means all the rest - including the number ones - are selling pretty normal to actual quite low numbers.Meanwhile you have 26 VR issues, 19 Joe, 29 Transformers, minus 500K for the combined number ones on each and you’re averaging about 101K an issue. Again, good, but not a remarkable number.
>>152567344Didn't think I'd be thanking Hasbro but it looks like they did good. How is Energon so far then?
>>152567372Doesn't that still compare well to modern comic sales or is it still bad in comparison to those?
>>152567454I mean 100 isnt stellar. It places them in the top 10 routinely but most runs have good sales then taper off. More recent issues of most of these titles are probably well below 100K. Sustainable numbers (though probably not as sustainable with flash and GL) but hardly anything to write home about. And since the regular ongoings aren’t also selling well it’s basically a trade off for hype.
>>152567413Doing great anon
>>152567482>It places them in the top 10 routinelyThis is what I kept hearing. I figured that must have meant something was going right. But it also seemed like comic sales as a whole have deflated so much over the decades that what used to be abysmal numbers is now the best one can hope for. I guess since they're announcing more Absolute titles it must be an experiment they think is doing well enough to justify continuing, but I can't help but wonder how long it will last.
Six million? Yeah right, 200K tops.
>>152567372Fuck I made a few errors hereThe DCA number should be 63 not 59 And I divided the sky bound figure by 7M not 6M. The numbers are actually much lower then lol. Cause one of the ones I left out on the DCA is the Batman annual which sold better than any of the ongoing absolute titles that month.
>>152567566Flash, GL, Superman and Martian Manhunter are probably barely holding on. The non superman ones are all slated to end at issue 12. Batman selling so well and Wonder Woman holding its own allows for the loss leaders to exist but not for much longer.
>>152567597>>152567372This means the energon books are only doing 74K a month if you remove 500K for the 3 number 1s (could even be higher). And that’s without drop off adjusting. More recent issues could be 60K if the first few of each sold well enough lol.
>>152567568Seethe marcuck, go print more x-men doorknobs
>>152567372Absolute GL and flash are each 11 issues inThat makes that 63, 85. 7,500,000/85 (to account for number ones which is definitely an absurdly low assumption) gives us 88 per title. And yet we know Batman sells well above that. This means most absolute books sell 60-70.
>>152567606>The non superman ones are all slated to end at issue 12.Of those 4 I listed, I should say.
>>152567568They’d actually be engaging in fraud if they openly announced these numbers and were lying. Now, we can assume they printed an extra 10-20K on certain issues for “gifting” and give-ways and other promotions but it’s pure conjecture. Especially when the numbers already aren’t exactly stellar as you can see below you
>>152567606Not too surprising. As I understood Manhunter and Flash were intended to be short runs and Green Lantern has been dragging it's feet since the start. Sort of sad to hear Superman isn't doing too hot but it only just two issues ago really feels like it began after finishing the Ra's stuff so it makes sense it's trailing too. Guess it remains to be seen what they do with the heros who's runs end.
>>152567820Superman was DOA when they gave the project to Jason Aaron. He simply isnt a capable writer. The new TMNT reboot was killed before it could launch for the same reason and it won’t rebound until a new, number one, fresh slate new continuity reboot.
>>152567859How does that fuck keep getting gigs?
>>152567820>As I understood Manhunter and Flash were intended to be short runsManhunter was only supposed to be six issues but sales extended the series indefinitely. I know you want to sound smart and like you really know what you're talking about but you really, really, really don't. As evidenced here >>152567606>the non Superman ones are slated to end at 12This is completely and utter bullshit, DC solicits just came out today and GL, Flash, and Manhunter are all there. Past issue 12.
>>152567606>The non superman ones are all slated to end at issue 12.Only Martian Manhunter which was extended to 12 issues to begin withBoth Lemire and Ewing have recently talked about their plans for Flash and GL over the next year too
>>152567038Marvel should kill Carol Danvers to make Avengers great again
>>152567413>>152567554Aside from the... you know.. algorithm poaching from the Unicron Trilogy...
>>152569534And Skybound is going to release a 86 movie special.
>>152567038Energon's been going since 2023>>152567133including 4 specials, I think 4 5-issue minis and the three ongoings? 98, which would imply average sales of 62k/issuebut that's very likely not true as a) it's Rich Johnston reporting whatever fucking press release someone sends to him yet again and b) if Image were making regular sales on a title of 62k - or the significantly higher sales on first issues that 6 million copies implies in the comic book market - Image would have never stopped crowing about it themselves (because this would be towards the high end of what any publisher is known to have been selling per regular issue right before Diamond stopped reporting sales - which is when the last real sales figures were known). more to the point it would be higher than Image's entire floppy sales for 2019 - even spread across two and a half years of sales, that would be a massive increase in sales for a small publisher, particularly one that's struggled in the past to market books, is sharing one brand with another division of itself (Larry Hama's GI Joe, apparently still going strong enough to warrant minis as well as an ongoing) and attempting to build a new brand from scratch (Void Rivals)I suspect they've been dumping these things into blind boxes and counting that as sales; if they were dropping them into boxes around the Transformers One release, that would easily account for the higher "sales" claim, but we know from experience those blind box sales don't lead to ongoing readersI always pity the idiots who have to use Rich for free publicity, he's such a fucking obvious moron and they're so clearly desperate to use him
>>152567606> The non superman ones are all slated to end at issue 12.We just had solicits for GL #14 and Flash #15 today. Why did you decide to come into this thread and lie, anon?
>>152569837Because he is a butthurt marvcuck employee
>>152567133So far:29 Transformers issues39 G.I. Joe issues25 Void Rivals issues2 FCBD issues each with stories from all three above titles>>152567322>Was Energon Universe also a reboot of some kind or was it a continuation of some previous line? It's a reboot. The only time a retail Transformers comic has continued a continuity from a previous publisher was when IDW did alternate prequels/sequels to the original Marvel comics.>>152567344Hasbro approved of those things, though.
>>152567038I think this calls for Japanese tactics of just saying the sales figures straight to Marvel's face. Or the reverse Dan Slott.
>>152570104(and the two FCBD issues did have not-free versions sold after the fact, so they count towards the total issues sold)
>>152569549They're going to call the sequel comic to Energon "Transformers: Cybertron", aren't they
>>152570637Energon is the tiberium of this universe anon
>>152567568ok cynic
