I just started watching this and it's so much better than the 2005 series. It has a much more serious tone and pacing seems to be better. I dropped the first series about 10-12 episodes in, just became boring.

So maybe it's the age difference for me because back then most of the characters I grew up with were extremely childish or acting way too mature for their age. I found Ben to be a breath of fresh air as he was becoming more mature but not over the top.
