Despite all ages works like Pixar and more mature adult stories in anime, it'll be perceived as less serious and important. See how the Clone Wars feature film compared to the prequel movies, or Transformers One to the Bayformers. Regardless of quality, despite being based on multi billion dollar property, it doesn't attract the normies.

I wish I asked what she thought about the film because I read the novelization instead and was balls deep into Warcraft lore already.
