Just finished Irredemable
I liked it the twist that plutoinians powers where psionic was neat and i wonder if that was originally planned for superman since Wade did write a bunch for superman
It reminded me alot of the boys artstyle wise and im suprised none of the artist worked on it with how similander pluto and homelander look sometimes
It never went into full grimdark tortureporn territory like the boys it also never really made fun of the wholee superhero genre like the boys
>>
>>152575273
Tony deserved better :(
>>
>>152575287
he got what he deserved
he was responsible for the death of thousands because some literal nobody pestered him about top secret alien technology and then instead of owning up to it and just quitting he went on a multimillion killing spree
>>
>>152575273
'Tactile telekinesis' has been the nonsensical explanation for Superman's lifting things without leverage in canon for ages. It was originally some bullshit nerds came up that they canonized when they grew up and got into the industry.

Waid will know all these silly little explanations.
>>
>Gets beaten up by a closeted faggot nerd infront of his love interest
>She still loves and supports him
Yeah that was unbelivebale for me
Realistically she just would have made fun of him to his coworkers triggering his genocidal rampage
>>
>>152575273
You should read Incorruptible too if you haven’t.
>>
>>152575338
its for more than just his lifting stuff up
Its also how he flys via mass shifting and why is invularble
Later on he gets full on crazy with Metal bending and mater manipulation
All the stuff superman would do in a random one of silver age story

is pic rel still happening? got announced in 2022
>>
>>152575273
trying not to read the thread cuz im reading it too! i like it, pretty solid comic, but just like any solid comic it starts to fall off. it had good sense of despair at the beginning, but then some questionable moments happend and story was continued in some odd direction, like, interstellar psychward? really? it ruined plutonians character for me, he changed from actually menacing god to another psycho. meh
>>
>>152577391
like, whats the great fucking idea? tony was DREAMING about redemption, about people forgiving him and then BLAM-O! he wants to kill people again! what a shitface move from writters ngl
>>
>>152577371
I can’t find anything more on it, hopefully it’s still happening. Combining the two and presumably making Max the protagonist sounds like a great idea to me.
>>
>>152577541
Why did Tony come back to earth again? I don't remember. Also, the atheist line triggering internet christians was based.

this one?
Also isnt god real in the world?
I remember that in the finale they visit the garden of eden to plant the tree of life to not let earth die out
>>
The ending where ends up being the inspiration for superman its weird
>>
Plutonian reminds me of scion
>>
>>152577936
>isnt god real in the world?
Maybe? It doesn't really matter because Tony is the son of the most powerful multiversal shitposters. He is Jesus but crazy.
>>
Was plutonian always doomed to be a psycho-genocider? Or he could have ended up better with a better family?
>>
>>152578115
I think he was doomed from the beginning. His first mother was crazy and her feelings affected him. This shit ruined the entire comic.
>>
>>152575273
You watched that fifty minute video that came out this week, didn't you?
>>
>>152578200
yes and?
>>
>>152578196
Thats a shame i always pity villains that never had a chance for something better even if they are monsters that deserves to die like homelander
>>
>>152578272
What is the story of Homelander?
>>
>>152578380
He was raised in a lab where they did awful test with him like testing his resistance to fire by putting him in a oven and they conditioned him to be loyal to vought and not try to escape
>>
>>152575316
>you are not allowed to get mad if the ungrateful public completely ruins your life based on their own mistakes!!
I bet you cry about falling down
>>
>>152578624
he could have just quit anon
Nobody was forcing him to be a superhero and he clerly didnt like it
If after the whole sonic virus thing he just quit and did anything else i would have forgiven him and just sayed that the stress ultimately gotten to him and let him to make one mistake but he decied to mutilate a kid and kill millions instead
There is no coming back from nuking skycity that was the ultimate point of no return
Before that everything could ahve been forgiven he saved millions of lives everyday so him being responsible for the death of a few hundred thousands is a tragedy but he still saved way more lives thant he virus killed and he didnt know what was gonna happen
>>
bump
>>
>>152575273
I remember this one started out pretty good but went on for too long
>>
>>152578671
But the whole point was that he had no other life path... his powers robbed him of a normal childhood, his dumb co-workers ruined whatever he scrounged together by leaking his identity, and his sidekick, the one person he truly cared about, being the one who sold him out over the sound virus is what culminated in his mind breaking
>>
>>152579758
>Qubit i did a horrible thing i dont thing im cut out ofr the whole hero thing can you help me out a bit
>Sure thing pal everybody makes mistakes here is a fake identy as some nobody and with your superpowers you should have no problems making a career in any athletic field and become a beloved superstar
literaly that easy
>>
Shota Tony was cute
>>
>>152575273
still dont know if this is good or bad. i read it and thought it felt cheap or "tacky", but everyone seems to say its really good ?
>>
>>152578600
that was just in the amazon show? it was even mentioned in the comics as far as i recall
>>
>>152581371
Well, it's the only good "evil Superman" story.
>>
>>152581405
i want to say the authority but apollo only acts evil in like 2 different dimensions so i guess youre kinda right.
i did like the interviews with the irredemable batman though where he mentions that hes never told anyone his wifes real name.
>>
Speaking of evil Supermen, what happened to Injustice Superman after the first game?
>>
>>152581464
he gets stuck in a redsun cell and then escapes after a shit breakout with robin and blue beetle and then fights brainiac.
its been a while since i played it.

I will never get injustice. If they wanted to do Superman but evil, why not pulling a Plutonian instead of writing a premise where Supes was right? They wasted years doing damage control in the injustice comics.
>>
>>152577371
I hope it's actually cancelled
>>
>>152579806
It fucking isn't
>>
>>152581405
Nope.
>>
>>152575273
I liked the !Lois Lane's reaction when she finds out his secret identity.

Indestructible was better though, at least in the beginning. Both of them felt like they should have been wrapped up one arc earlier.
>>
>>152583784
the guy who gets stronger by taking speed and staying awake?
i only read a few issues of that because the comic told me to and i thought it was pretty fucking boring, does it get better or pick up the pace or something in the issues as it progresses?
>>
>>152583816
I thought it was interesting, I like the main character and it's interesting to see the events of Irredeemable from a ground level view. It's kind of all over the place, but I enjoyed it. Like I said, I found the last arc kind of whatever, but I felt the same way about the last arc of Irredeemable.
>>
>>152584344
fair enough.
>>
>>152575273
It's really entertaining, the thing is that Waid is riffing on everything Superman. The powers of plutonium and much of his origin were lifted from Alan Moore's Miracleman. I like that each chapter ended with a twist, it was like a Japanese manga, always leaving a hook for the next chapter. The only problem was the art, but I thought the series was better than KC.
>>
>>152575273
didn't it was a sequel with his villain?

Half of this chatter that’s been popping up is manufactured shill. The Netflix show must be getting close. In b4 Max Damage and/or Qubit are black

Ugh, the last thing we need is another Evil Superman story. Even if I like Irredeemable I won't be watching.
>>
>>152586234
>We don't need cool stories
>>
>>152577371
We need an Insufferable adaptation for the baby armor scene
>>
Of irredeemable is What if superman bit evil than would be the definitive Modern version of Superman but undoubtedly good that isn't a Superman story?
All i can think of is all might from mha but he doesn't have his own comic hes just a side character
>>
>>152587571
All Might is terrible.
>>
>Mark Waid
There's zero percent chance that this is any good.
>>
>>152581388
I thought in the comics they kept him in an underground bunker with a nuke strapped to his chest.
>>
>>152578671
I don't think the public would've forgiven him. They acted like he owed them - there's that dude on the yacht asking him to repair the boat, or those dudes in the crowd saying he looked like a fag. The only one who appreciated him with his Lex Luthor knock-off.
>>
>>152588985

I wish someone made a "superman takes over" story that WASN'T just an "le evil superman who kills and rapes and blows up everybody" thing.

Like, just "what if some random person had superman powers and decided they were going to take over the world and do things their way"
>>
>>152575273
>i wonder if that was originally planned for superman since Wade did write a bunch for superman
Its very widely accepted that it is, at least for some part. Ask how come traines&planes dont snap into halves in sups hands the way they would in homelanders and the answer youl get is telepathic field or some other shit like this
>>
>>152592947
Moore's Miracleman
>>
>>152594050
That only showed the beginnings of that.
>>
>>152577975
Considering they originally conceived of him as a monster
>>
>>152578196
This was where Waid shit the bed by retconning the original explanation (Tony lost his patience because he's not Clark Kent)
>>
>>152594050
>Miracleman
wasn he just British Shazam?
>>
>>152596901
Yes and Captain Marvel is a Superman
>>
>>152596901
>England being so proud of filing the serial numbers off Captain Marvel when Bongs outlawed import media
>Alan Moore showing no shame in resurrecting this national embarrassment
