Maybe that's because, if made right, maintains most of the cartoonish characteristics of their style that it translates well in 3D, and I think this movie made a good job with it and have many funny visual gags, altought I still prefer the 2D, and also the fact that in a first impression technically wise could be looks cheap based on the trailer alone.
