That preschoolers are animation biggest and most profitable demo?

Kids sure love slop, glad that's not me anymore.
>>
Honestly, looking at this chart just made me realize the Adventure Time/Regular Show/Gumball/Steven Universe/Gravity Falls generation in the early 2010s was probably the last batch of original western animation for kids we'll ever see.

Something we took for granted (that new western cartoons aimed at kids came out and replaced old ones) is basically dead due to streaming. Before, the network was the one who controlled what kids watched and slowly pulled out old shows in favour of new ones kids were forced to watch because they didn't have a choice. But kids can now just watch all the old shows whenever they want. And guess what? They just want to keep watching SpongeBob, Phineas and Ferb and Gumball which have a ton of episodes.

It's similar to what killed sitcoms, but at least stuff like Friends actually had an ending and became dated in some ways (Friends is very 90s). SpongeBob is not dated and will also never end, so why produce anything new?
>>
>>152576322
Does Max even have literally any kids shows left other than Teen Titans Go! and Adventure Time?

What's her secret?
>>
>>152576441
you're right
there are no original stories anymore either, no reason to make cartoons, let AI do it and let streaming just have every existing cartoon
100 years from now kids will still be talking about the cartoons from today because that's all they will know, it's genius
>>
>>152576292
Chowder?

No plot, no leepest dore, no romantic subplots, and no LGBT characters (I think) just good old fashioned cartoony episodic slice-of-life

Maybe tumblr was wrong, and shows actually did get worse, and it wasn't all just "nostalgia goggles" or whatever they called it.
>>

Kids like animals over minorities or deep lore see Zootopia sucess and Hoppers aiming to be the biggest opening for a original Pixar movie since Coco.

They still make plenty of cartoons. Batwheels, bugs bunny builders, the Barney reboot, nick jr even has a few new ones coming out

I think things will actually improve once the pointless streaming services (HBO Max, Paramount+, Peacock) die out and everything consolidates around the same few streaming services like Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime.

Consolidation is usually bad, but realistically western animation *needs* to be consolidated in the same few places to be sustainable.

Hasn't CN pivoted away from their preschool push?

Just checked Hulu, The Flintstones isn't there anymore, how outdated is this chart?
Also, Flintstones is on Tubi now btw

We might have to start including Tubi in these conversations about streaming services.

>>152579937
It's most watched shows in 2025. The Flintstones left Hulu sometime around late 2025.

Okay then, just chcked Tubi right now, the most popular kid shows there seemt to be:
>The Looney Tunes Show
>Scooby-Doo, Where are You!
>Transformers Prime
>Pink Panther and Pals
>Shaun the Sheep
>Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures
>The Pink Panther
>The Scooby-Doo Show
>Sonic Boom
>My Little Pony
Just missing out the Top 10 are Jackie Chan Adventures, What's New Scooby-Doo!, Speed Racer, Sonic X, and Garfield and Friends.
>>
>>152580075
That will change on March 1st.

Also actual Looney Tunes out rank them all.
>>
>>152580075
>The Pink Panther
Should specify that's The Pink Panther Show, the old one.
>>
>>152580085
>actual Looney Tunes out rank them all.
Probably, I just checked the "Most Popular" section from the Kids section.
Took me a while to realize why Looney Tunes wasn't there at all, but for some reason original Looney Tunes isn't classified as being for kids.
I also ignored movies.

Well yeah, they were theatrical shorts meant for an adult audience.

Where does it say that? You can see "in the US" twice in there, once at the top and then again in the small text under the Hulu shows.

I'm surprised Teen Titans Go! didn't. It's on Hulu.

Ladybug ranked, but on Netflix rather than Disney +.

Is that because the first five seasons are more popular than season six, or because Disney Channel barely runs episodes anymore?

what in the fuck? no for real what in the fuck out of all HB shows how in the ever living fuck is it pink panther thats popular in this day and age people only know it for fucking an insulation logo
1960's Flintstones showing up in another top 10 list is rather neat. Curious george being #2 on hulu is odd to me suprised its still a popular series I mean yeah the books are classics.
