This isn't like the classic era where YouTube ad money actually paid worth a shit. They can't even dip into their own pockets because none of the crew have a successful main channel like Tom did when he had to get extra money. I don't think the EW Patreon is doing well either. Merch and sponsors are their only options now to pay people and it probably still isn't enough. They have a dozen or so artists and animators on their payroll.I could see Matt resorting to animating shit himself if push comes to shove, he can actually replicate Edd's style perfectly and is already boarding on some eps
