When we see the flashback of the "Go home, Buddy. I work alone." scene later in the movie, it is only Mr. Incredible and Buddy. He doesn't remember that Bomb Voyage was there, so probably doesn't remember that Bomb Voyage almost killed him and that Mr. Incredible saved his life.It's the defining moment of his life and he is remembering it wrong.
