What's the best slice of life cartoon in western animation?Always seemed like more of an anime thing
Probably Ed, Edd, n Eddy.
>>152583030why would a child want to watch a generic life soap opera?cartoons are usually for children where anime spans all ages.
>>152583030King of the Hill
>>152583054Slice of life is not soap opera.
>>152583082same piss different toilet.
>>152583054I dunno man I liked Hey Arnold a ton as a kid
>>152583030Hey Arnold
>>152583030Arnold, Doug, Clarence. Pretty much anything that's the first name of the main character.
>>152583095it was aimed at young boys. of course you liked it.
>>152583092No they are different genres.

>>152583030>>152583097>>152583095I too vote for Hey Arnold!Recess is also a serious contender. The real question is if their is a distinction between SoL and Sitcom.
>>152583174>>152584594In reality something like As Told by Ginger is sol/drama while Ed, Edd n Eddy is sol/comedy
>>152583030Hey Arnold for kids, king of the hill for adults. >>152583054Western animation ≠ just for kids. I hope you stub your toe for such a stupid comment. >>152583174You are not going to convince that anon who is drunk off his hatred for the two genres they aren't the same genre. Never expect good faith from such people >>152584594The boundaries are fuzzy and if you asked me I would say a sitcom is a type of slice of life but I think sitcoms are different in the rate of jokes and cinematography. Most sitcoms are shot like stageplays and take place in set pieces so they can't do anything to crazy unless it's quick joke. They have a very bread and butter way off being animated, it's cheaper that way. Every line of dialogue is usually a joke or to set up a joke, are very rapid fire and the humor is more situational, ironic and loves to break the 4th wall. Slice of life is more broad. You can have slice of life's that aren't comedies . Sure you can have funny lines of dialogue but they can easily switch to genuine moments like drama, romance or even the rare action set piece that aren't setting up a joke. To me every sitcom can be classified as a slice of life but not every slice of life is a sitcom.
