The game didn't even really have much written for it besides a few paragraphs as part of each champion's character design until years after the game became popular. Then they did a rework of things and removed a bunch of lore in order to make up these factions like Noxious and Ionia and whatnot in order to sell champions thematically.So when you're trying to make an interesting story when what you're basing the story on was originally intentionally particularly shallow, since that was what suited the game, it's going to end up hard to explain away everything. Stuff in the game didn't make sense but it didn't matter, but if you're doing a proper dramatic story it becomes an issue.
