I'd like to know why some of you guys care about comic accuracy. No fucking bullshit, no memes. I want a real answer.
>why does plurality exist
Cause I like comics. Would you be surprised if someone wanted book accuracy or video game accuracy?
>>152586416Yeah I would bro. I don't get it. Like you know it's not going to happen. There is no way to make a movie anything like any book or video game. I just ignore adaptations of things I like for the most part, and when I don't I still don't expect the film to be accurate.
>>152585703I care less about comic accuracy and more about brand accuracyif you’re going to make a game based off of the movies instead of the comics then fucking clarify thatdon’t just say “Marvel” and then have everything be MCU, or say “DC” and base things off the damn CW shows
>>152585703>CW Gotham Knights batsuit set photo leak
>>152585703I don't like comic book adaptations.
>>152585703When someone adapts something I like, I want the thing to look like the thing.
>>152585703I want adaptations of things I like to carry over the elements I like from said thing.I still get annoyed every time a new adaptation of Frankenstein comes out because there isn't a single one that tries to be remotely similar to the book.
>>152588164What aspects do you want them to carry over, and why do you care if you know it will be an entirely different experience anyway?
>>152588328>what aspects of each adapted comic book do you want to carry overDo you read comics? There isn't single universal aspects, people would get boring if everything in a medium was the same. What type of question is that?
>>152585703why do you not?
It’s not the most important but I do appreciate when they put in the effort to get close. I don’t mind it when small stuff is changed to adjust to the medium they’re adapting the comic into. As long as they keep the core fundamentals of the characters and visually look like them, I can roll with them. There are no comic book movies that 100% accurate to the source material they’re deriving from. The closest they’ve gotten is Watchmen but they still changed the ending.
>>152586374what that means?
>>152588394>Do you read comics? He does not.
>>152585703Because if I liked something on the page then I want it to be as close to the when adapted into another medium.Sometimes a radical change from the source material will yield a better result like Blade, but most of the time we end up with Dark Phoenix (both film versions).
>>152591623Even an accurate adaptation of Dark Phoenix would be terrible because that comic stinks.
>>152592592fuck u
>>152591623Explain WHY!!!!!!!
>>152585703If there are a bunch of different adaptations, it's always nice if there's one that sticks really close to the source material. At the same time, you can't be "accurate" to comics because comics have multiple runs that all have different writers and continuities. Pre-Crisis vs. Post-Crisis vs. New 52, Marvel vs. Ultimate Marvel, etc.I still think you have to be somewhat true to the spirit of the source material, though. You can't have Black Manta be a white guy who's best buddies with Aquaman, for example. That'd be a different character entirely.
>>152585703>Don't give me your reasons, I want to hear MY reasons
>>152585703the source is usually better than the movie. see Hellblazer comic compared to the lame ass Constantine movie.
>>152596003Comics don't even have any spirit though.
>>152596020Faggot>152586416Not a reason.>152587287No reason provided>152588050Jeet doesn't seem to know what a "reason" is>152588164No reason given>152588394No reason>152588531Zero reason provided>152588927No reason>152591623Just saying "because" at the start of your opinion doesn't explain why you have that fucking opinion. No reason provided>152596003No reason provided>152596665This is the ONLY motherfucker to provide a reason and he isn't even right. Idk anything about Constantstein but every time I've ever read a comic it fucking sucked dick. But bro actually answered my question so I RESPECT him!
>>152585703Because if I'd like to see what the original content was trying to convey before some dipshit director decides they want fo add their own spin to it. Also I don't like faggots who succumb to peer pressure or faggot fans that demand fan service and force the creator to rethink their own creation.
>>152596879Also you're a faggot.
>>152585703Why do you care?
>>152585703I don't want comic accuracy, I just want it to look like the thing from my childhood. Capeshit is for children and if it doesn't look like the thing from when I was a child then I don't have nostalgia for it and so it doesn't have any effect on me.
>>152585703It's not so much accuracy I care about as it sincerity. Since you used Batman as an example, let's use him. I hate that so many film makers are ashamed they're doing a comic book movie, and that means all we ever get is 'grounded' mobsters and terrorist and maybe Joker if we're lucky but even then they want to make Joker into Taxi Driver.Don't get me wrong Taxi Driver is great and there's some good potential there but it I'd like them to embrace the weird shit too so that we can get characters like Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze, or a Bane that aren't turned instantly turned a meme for being so silly.Shame is cringe.
>>152585703Oh that’s easy because if synergy, if they make too many changes and it does well, than they change the comic charecter to fit the movie. Look at Nick Fury, Antman, and Starlord. All of these character's changed drastically in the comics because of the movie. Want another example ok that’s easy, Hawkeye, I miss his old costume, but ever since the movies happened he’s always just a guy now, I miss the purple mask it made him unique.
>>152585703I think it sucks that only now are we getting comic outfits and colors like with Wolverine and Cyclops now that their movies are dying, I’ll never forgive them for making us sound like crazy incels for wanting good suits
>>152597036>for making us sound like crazy incelsStfu troon. Incels rule.
>>152585703I don't give a shit. I want to be entertained and not cringe, thats all. And most accurate adaptations would be extremely cringe, starting with the costumes, followed by the backstories.
>>152585703I dont
