From the perspective of the villagers, Gaston died heroically died fighting an evil Beast. Eventually, they're just going to round up a bigger posse to get revenge. LeFou especially wouldn't let that shit stand.
Gaston was the genetic future of that village. He was the only one not turned into a bloody monster by all the inbreeding.Too bad for them Gaston was trad and saving himself for marriage.
