>>152596454The takeaway is that there needs to be a Batman. But Bruce walked away and shut it all down. Terry's father wasn't killed by a gang or some random criminal. He was killed by a hitman sent by Powers, a man that Bruce should've dealt with. If he did then Terry wouldn't have lost his father and probably wouldn't have become Batman. Beyond is about a good man doing nothing and all his work being undone because of it. For all the flack Epilogue got, it showed the best ending for Bruce. Passing his mantle off to his successor who has become the perfect Batman for the future.
