Why is she suddenly getting popular after like 43 years? If all the recent Marvel popularity is from that chink moba, they dropped the ball by not doing that like 15 years ago when a lot of people still cared.

Combination of factors. She was always the most popular New Mutant

But she was dead when the X-Men hit the franchise peak in the 90s, so she missed out on TAS and the other cartoons and movies

They brought her back, and added her onto the Extinction team within like 4 years, and she has been Cyclops's most loyal soldier and right-hand ever since
So she gets a lot of focus just from the fact that she's been consistently on one of the main X-Men teams since Utopia

Add in the Bachalo costume giving her a strong visual identity that sets her apart from the other New Mutants and elevates her above them

The sheer variety of her kit, the glowy magic sword, teleportation discs, summoning demons, magic spells, turning into a sexy demon herself. And the whole Limbo dimension backstory that is almost exclusively hers.
You can use her in a million different ways as a writer or game developer
