Industry Plant: The Character
>>
>>152605053
Nah, there is actually a market for the character. All characters are "plants" anyway, that's a publishers job, people only complain about it when they don't like the character in question.
>>
>>152605065
>there is actually a market for the character
His comics never place high on shales charts, his games flopped so hard they canceled the DLC and multiplayer expansion, and his movies, which could be argued make money just for the Spider-Verse novelty and not Miles, made back their budget but still performed worse than the Andrew Garfield movies and those were considered flops.

all the spinoff characters need to die especially miles

>Recycles the name of the company's most famous hero
>Recycles the name of someone who isn't even the group leader of some Hawkeye enemies and has maybe two dozen appearances in 4 decades

He's very far out of her league.
>>
>>152605369
Yes he is. In the opposite direction.
>>
>>152605065
He's the definition of a plant, anon. Created by a self-loathing Jew to jump on the then new identity politics marketing train. When he was unveiled, literally every major U.S. news organization ran stories about it. I'm not talking about comic book or nerd sites, but USA Today and CNN - you know, the kind of outlets that usually never acknowledge the existence of the medium. In the same year he was introduced, he appeared in a console video game (granted, just as a costume). Within 3 years, he was in TV shows and in under a decade, starring in his own movie.

It took Venom years to show up outside of comics. See how much Sony's first slop Venom movie grossed compared to the Spider-Verse movies to spot the difference between astroturfed popularity and genuine interest.
>>
>>152606336
Wasn't Venom in the first Spider-Man cartoon made after he was made in the first season?

OP doesn't understand what 'industry plant' means using it as a blanket term for 'character I don't like' diluting it's usefulness as an actual description.
>>
>>152605065
Thats quite a lot of cope
>>
>>152605065
the trannies love him
>>
>>152605053
No, that'd be Peter Parker.
>>
If I somehow ever became an editor at Marvel I'd go out of my way to try to kill all of Bendis' black OCs.
>>
>>152606336
"Industry plant" is just code for "I don't like X." That's literally it, it comes from music fandoms to describe artists people don't like getting collabs and features. Comics are corporate IP, they literally cannot be apart from the industry and it is the job of said corporation to promote its IPs to make money.

Also Venom first showed up in a video game 3 years after his debut, but you're missing the context that comic adaptations of any sort were rare during the time period Venom debuted.
>>
>>152606502
Nope, you faggot
>>
>>152606446
Except Miles is literally an industry plant.
>>
>>152606873
In the sense that he's a fictional character created and owned by a company, sure, but so is every single other Marvel character.

Not an industry plant. An industry plant would be someone like punchline but people already forgot about her and those people who had the infinity stone's powers

Nah, Bendis characters are industry plant(Jessica Jones,Miles,Riri, Naomi and Teen Lantern)
>>
>>152608869
It seems bendis has two models. The super special magical unique negro. or the character you never saw before but secretly played a role in your favorite characters past and was always there in the background. How conveniently strange and peculiar that they coexisted with spider-man but you never saw them before.

Miles was created in response to a demand. He was built to address a market. That's literally the opposite of a plant which is to sell you something.
>>
>>152606525
>"Industry plant" is just code for "I don't like X." That's literally it, it comes from music fandoms to describe artists people don't like getting collabs and features
I love how yo8 don't see your own logic backfire against you. The same logic can be applied to shilled characters that didn't make the cut yet somehow were still getting pushed meanwhile other characters were cut short of completely ignored or intentionally sabotaged like Miguel or mayday at the expense of you know who.
>>

Terrible bait

If you are talking about Spider-Boy he's a Slott OC

Miles is the hero with rizz that we need.
>>
>>152605065
I heard he was created during the time when the Ditko estate disputed Marvel's ownership of "Spiderman". At the time it was possible for Marvel to lose Spiderman. So they made a replacement Spiderman.
>>
>>152609610
Since Kate, Kamala, and Anya already have dedicated love interests, it really is just Tiana.
>>
he should go back to his universe-1610, I have multiverse fatigue in 616.
>>
>>152609915
Bombshell is the ultimate side piece for Miles though. She’s ready to open her legs for Miles in secret.
>>
>>152609513
Say what you will about Miles he at least sells well enough to hold a series. Kamala sells so bad that they hid her from the solicitations in Inglorious X-force

At least Miles was a unique character rather than a lazy raceswap of an existing one.
>>
>>152606525
Honestly at some point people don’t seem to realize the only thing that separates an industry plant from a regular character or act is that what’s called an industry plant is what they, the industry, have failed to get fans to like even after they pushed them. Really, all characters and acts are pushed and thus (to a degree) astroturfed at the start. It’s really whether the marketing succeeds or flops is the determining factor for when a character or act is a plant or not
>>
>>152609513
Still makes me laugh when I think of her mutant pivot
>FUCK MUTANTS WE AT MARVEL HATE MUTANTS (because we don't have their movie rights) REMOVE MUTANTS WE DON'T NEED THEM WE HAVE huh... (do we have any other group of people that can gain random powers? "Inhumans"? The fuck is th- know what never mind) WE HAVE INHUMANS! WE DON'T NEED MUTANTS!
>HERE IS KAMALA KHAN, A QUIRK CHUNGUS INHUMAN FOR OUR MODERN AUDIENCE!
>oh shit everything Inhuman we tried to shill crashed and burned WHAT DO YOU MEAN DISNEY BOUGHT FOX?
>HUM ACTUALLY KAMALA WAS ALWAYS A MUTANT! YOU LIKE THOSE, HUH?
>>
>>152608980
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight
>>
>>152610227
The best case scenario is some other guy she calls Miles. The worst is that she ends a drug addict who loses her sense of the world and ends up recidivate.
