She’s clearly inspired by pagan figures like Artemis, Cernunnos, and Herne the Hunter and the resemblance to such mythological figures only heightens her own mystique.Her personality is also a treat, mysterious and aloof, sardonic at times and even hostile, but underneath are hidden depths of sensitivity and love. In Wild Hunt she’s surprisingly tender with Finn and very supportive in helping him get over his issues with Fern, and in Seventeen we see a goofy side to her when she joins the birthday celebration and her gifting Finn an elk’s heart is beautiful for all it’s symbolism.This season only cemented HW’s position as my favorite character by giving her the spotlight. Her backstory was fantastic, simple but effective in that it clearly demonstrates why she is the way she is by showing us her loss and how it affects her throughout her life and why she fears vulnerability. We see just how driven she is when something she truly cares about is on the line and for all her faults regarding communication and relationships she clearly loves deeply and expresses this through action, willing to put her own safety on the line to save Finn’s life, overcoming her trauma and her own nature in a beautiful example of character growth.Huntress Wizard is such an interesting character and I’m so glad that she exists and that it was Adventure Time that made her, and I hope if we do get more AT in the future we get to see more of her.

They're both also really stubborn and believe they're always right. Finn's too exuberant and high-energy for HW who's fully committed to cultivating her badass lone wolf persona at the time but she needs his help and Finn remembers a passage from The Enchiridion that says Wizards and Heroes need one another so he goes with her. They bicker and are at odds but have really good fight synergy and Finn warms up to her, but when the adventure is over and Finn offers his friendship she's already disappeared. Subsequent appearances are sporadic and would mainly show her gradually lowering her guard around Finn as he helps her out from time to time, nothing romantic because he's either still into Bubblegum or dating FP at the time during these episodes but we see them becoming if not fond of each other then at least willing to cooperate. Then Flute Spell happens as it does in canon and the rest goes from there.
