Do you care about architecture in comics or not really?
>>152697141Appreciate it when it looks nice and plausible or cool and fantastical
Can very much enhance the experience just like how a good understanding of machinery/cars/guns can enhance a comic

I can't say I have any understanding of architecture, and I can't see any architectural design getting me to read something I'd not otherwise be interested in, but I love a nice aesthetically pleasing setting. I like seeing fancy masonry etc.
>>152697141I care a little
>>152697141Yes.
>>152697141Architecture, interior design and decor, the whole nine yards.
>>152697141Mega-City One is pretty fucking hot.
>>152697141I thought I didn’t, but all the newer comics without any creativity in theirs are driving me nuts. I guess it’s important to me.
>>152697141I like Radiant City (Mister X), North Am (Magnus, Robot Fighter 4000 A.D.), Neopolis (Top Ten), and multiple places in the Obscure Cities series for their architecture.
>>152697413>>152697419>>152697428>>152697453Now these are just GORGEOUS

>>152703798Why is it always eurocomics giving a shit about architecture? I’d love to see american ones start caring a little more beyond vague hand waves towards being inspired by Moebius
>>152697141You might be autistic Anon, but it's one of the fun, interesting kinds. Shine on.

/co/, why is Western architecture dynamic and Eastern, anime specific, blocky?
>>152705591I think you're comparing fantasy architecture to sci fi architecture.
>>152705616Western sci fi architecture is more dynamic though
>>152705761What about Toriyama?

>>152697141I like how Grant Morrison incorporated architecture of the surreal or fantastical from irl in his runs on Doom Patrol and Seven Soldiers.
>>152706935The Invisibles also made several nods to existing architecture.
>>152706935The art was too crap in Doom Patrol.

It doesn't matter until it does. Most comic architecture is either barely functional or a ton of greeblies that exist for adding detail to make the architecture look impressive as long as you don't look too close or think too hard about whatever it is you're looking at.
I like post-apocalyptic Paris in Waters of Deadmoon. There are better panels than this, but I'm too lazy to hunt past the first page of Google Image results.
