Before you ask, yes: a timeskip has occurred between last issue and now. I think Avengers #29-35 (excluding the detours) has taken place between OWUD #5-6. Don’t ask me if Imperial and the X-Men issues leading into AoR also take place in that gap, because I have no idea.

And that's it for MacKay's run on Avengers! Overall I’d say it's a very mixed run. While IMO there is nothing really "awful" going on here, it just never takes any swings with the team nor the plot in general (except maybe Blood Hunt). Also, only a single member change happens in the entire run, because the run is built entirely around a static roster that has to fill a specific thematic role. And it also just really sucks that the rest of the Tribulation Events that the run had teased from the beginning never ended up happening and MacKay had to end the run with a speedrun of the final act and reveals in an 8-part arc (that's actually just 4 issues long, but with a prologue, an epilogue and 2 interlude issues).With that being said, this might possibly be the last time that we'll see an Avengers title here for a while, unless we're getting the return of Uncanny Avengers again post-Armageddon. Just hope that we won’t be getting a flood of Wolverine comics if he really is back on the Avengers again…And now for X-Men.
Back to our usual schedule. Previously in X-Men, we dealt with the 3-part epilogue to Age of Revelation. First, we got to see how the X-Men and Doug reacted to AoR-Cyclops’ assassination attempt, with Doug ending up leaving the Factory. Then, we got to see how 3K was close to fall apart until OG-Beast showed up and told them that he had learned how to create the X-Virus following his adventure in AoR, while ordering Schwarzschild to be thrown off their base in the sky because he had joined the X-Men in AoR. Lastly, we got to see Cyclops having now returned from his AoR trip and sending the team on a mission to Terra Verde to find and stop Doug. On their way there, they end up having to fight the Fenris Twins and their white nationalist gang that they had formed, only for Crimson Commando - the new director of O*N*E - to step in with a TV crew and take credit for the Fenris Twins defeat, as well as claim that Cyclops’ X-Men and O*N*E will be working together from now on, sending the message that America will not be pushed around by mutants any longer. Meanwhile, Beast contacted 3K (after getting their contact card in Issue #18) that he had found out about the inside joke behind 3K’s name - and found himself face to face with OG-Beast once more…

More solo series are still coming our way, and this time it's Dani Moonstar's turn! Spinning out of the events of Magik's ongoing, Dani had joined the Society of the Eternal Dawn with the goal of improving the future of mutantkind following the fall of Krakoa. After Liminal got imprisoned within Magik’s sidekick Cal’s body, she transferred him to the Society in hope of saving Cal. Unfortunately, Dani and Magik ended up discovering that the Society was corrupt the whole time, when they realized that the mission to retrieve an item to separate Cal from Liminal was actually intended to be a suicide mission, because the Society simply wanted to just kill Cal and get rid off Liminal in the process, while Eloise - the leader of the Society known as the Embodiment - had used her future sight powers and intentionally ignored various upcoming apocalypses, including Krakoa’s fall. But once the dust had settled, Magik suggested to Dani that she could rebuild the Society and lead it to become something better. Dani declined and she left the Society…but what will cause them to come back into her life once more?
Isn't it funny how multi-issue events like Blood Hunt and One World Under Doom has had so little impact on the X-Books, but Immortal Thor #25 temporarily putting all Asgardians and Doctor Strange off-limits has?

Meanwhile, the Adamantine continued its search for champions that would be able to kill Logan…

In this annual, the New Orleans X-Men* have to deal with the mutant known as the Creationist!*Yes, it really annoys me that this annual does not feature the Alaskan X-Men but the New Orleans X-Men instead, meaning that both X-Men Annuals are dedicated to them.
