What went so wrong?
>>
>furry comic by small publisher
>starts strong with vibrant world and premise
>becomes slop immediately
Many such examples, from Unnatural to Beastars
>>
>>152699110
The stupid "shotguns in the wall" ass-pull completely derailed the realistic tone (if you can say a book about talking animals was "realistic"). The issue that came out today was a little better, but was still a bit outrageous with the sheer amount of fire bombs Samantha had set.
>>
>>152699450
Is it so weird to think Sam used all that spare time to set up a few contingencies for if and when she’s caught?
>>
>>152699575
I'm willing to accept contingencies sure, but fully automated ceiling shotguns is fucking stupid.
>>
I liked it but I don't like how abrupt the ending feels
The first comic just feels a lot more complete while this feels like it's just setting up stuff for future stories.

I hope Sam dies in the next comic.
>>
Last chapter of volume 2 is out, I can only dump in like half a hour, of anyone else wants to do it, feel free to do so

>I liked it but I don't like how abrupt the ending feels
It really feels like they ran out of ideas once the duck lady figured out Sam killed her brother. I feel like they wanted to set it up with the duck picking up Sam's mantle and start killing (especially after she made that guy fall down the stairs) but got cold feet and scrapped that idea at the last second.
>>

I really wouldn't want that. I mean it's clear Monica is a little crazy herself but she's not an emotionless serial killer like Sam that be dumb making her become like Sam.

I just want to see Monica kill Sam and I think it's kind of lame we got to wait till the third book for that to happen.
>>
>>152699908
When DC showed up and was like "Hi, we want your bear lady to scare the shit out of Lex Luthor", it probably caused an abrupt change of plans. Where it's ended does not feel how Rite of Spring started.
>>
>>152699450
there's one out today? is it storytimed?
>>
>>152700060
That wouldn't have anything to do with the main story. The Sam that showed up in that was clearly much younger (set right around the time of the first series).
>>
>>152700183
It would however maybe convince IDW to not kill her off just yet if she's getting a surge of new attention.
>>
Ok i'm free, gimme 5 minutes and i'm dumping in another thread
>>
>>152700231
godspeed anon

>The issue that came out today was a little better
Nah, it was the same "smart, smooth operator but written by a retard" bullshit as the last one, she only got away with everything out of pure plot contrivance/bad writing.
>>
Well, Rite of Spring is over.

Now what?

I'd like Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees to be something like a tetralogy (because I'm reading the prequel about young Sam in Germany).

With the last part set in the 2000s.
>>
>>152701130

A third volume. No plot details yet.
>>
>>152701145
It would be interesting to see what a sequel to Rite of Spring would be like.

With Sam now in her 60s (looking like a grandmother in some town in Arizona or New Mexico) and with Lewis or Wendy (or even both) as police investigators trying to uncover the truth about Samantha.
>>
>>152701291
Sam is not making it to her sixties.

She destroyed an American town. It's 9/11 scale. She would be the most wanted woman in the world.
>>
>>152701328
Who knows the truth?

I wouldn't rule out Samantha hiding in the desert for a while.

Perhaps she'll even create a new identity for herself.
>>
I have these questions about the issue 6:

>Is the male koala (Michael) dead or was he rescued from the fire?
>Which US state did Sam flee to?
>Will Woodbrook be rebuilt?
>>
>>152699110
>What went so wrong?
too gorey and unappealing for most furries
>>
>>152699141
Here's the great secert. Every co concept for a story as an extremely strick length and time limit where it's good, and it's also shorter than you think. And if you go even one page past that your fucked.

10 bump

No.

>small publisher

IDW is not small
>>
>>152699141
This is new Funnies, and Crossed. Edgy for the sake of edge. It has an audience.
>>
>>152699141
I know! Isn't it AWESOME?
