It's like there's a strong effort in cartoons to not give love interests to protagonists as that messes up the "atemporality" of episodes, because a relationship is something that progresses with time. And also because the character is like unatainable, so the idea that some writer can just come and write in some love interest to a classic CN character feels cheap
