In that scott comic, there's 8 panels used to deliver one joke, which is extremely rare to see in any Bushmiller comic. Any contemplation Nancy might have would take maybe 3 panels to get across because it was all in service of building towards the gag, really good ones that play with common ideas or express some part of the human condition.
