It's weird how badly the pilot has aged, I thought it was interesting when it was new but I can't help but notice how actual dogshit the writing and line delivery is in it.I get what they're going for with Jax now who's coping by being a cartoon character but everything he does is cringe/not funny. Crucially this is not a bad thing at all, considering one of the main themes of the show is how much people need each other for sanity and growth, how much you suffer and stagnate when you push others away, which is the point of Jax's character, and why he's the show's other focal point.
